This is heavily inspired from an episode from Steven Universe. The reader was originally made for Thanos' army as part of an original experiment of his to create soldiers to carry out his will, kinda like how Amethyst was made as a soldier for Homeworld and the Diamonds. This aspect of the reader's life understandably brings up old wounded memories for Gamora who tried to bury that part of the past, unintentionally hurting the reader.

This gets a bit angsty along with some language.

"Hey, has anyone seen (y/n)?" Peter inquires of the team shortly after landing. Turned out some parts of the ship haven't undergone maintenance like they're supposed to, which resulted in an early landing, and Rocket having a field day with the spare parts. "Oh, I'm sorry," Rocket responds sarcastically, "I wasn't aware I was suppose to be keeping on eye on her while simultaneously replacing the parts you neglected to maintain this whole damn time." "Hey cut me some slack, it's not this ship has any check engine lights or anything," Peter defends.
"I believe she went in that direction," Drax points, "Oh and she took Mantis and Groot with her." "What? Why?" Gamora questions in disbelief; though she was good at hiding it, she felt rather uncomfortable being on this planet, especially when they were so close to a certain site she didn't want to be seeing anytime soon.

"Well Mantis wanted to explore and see all the stuff that's new to her and Groot...well actually I don't know why Groot would want to explore this barren wasteland of a planet," Rocket shrugs. "Well, maybe I should go find them," Gamora informs them, "who knows what kind of creatures might lurk on this 'wasteland'."

"So," you begin, showing Mantis and Groot the place that was once your old stomping grounds, "What do you think?" The surrounding area was something akin to a canyon, with holes littering the walls of the canyons and various old machines seen here and there. "It is quite a unique place," Mantis says in admiration, "What is it exactly?" "I am Groot?" "Not exactly," you answer, "you could say I used to live here. Come on, let me show you around."

"That's the boulder I used to climb and stand on," you point, "That's the little stone I'd kick around occasionally, and that's the one rock I kicked into two rocks. Oh and there's the little ledge I'd sometimes hang upside down on to see how long I could hang there before nearly falling to my death." "I am Groot." "Actually it's not as scary as it sounds," you assure. "How long did you live here?" Mantis asks. "I don't know," you shrug, "for awhile, that is till I got caught in one of the sand storms that ravage this place every now and then. I'm not sure how but that same storm I ended up on another planet and just ended up wondering around until Peter, Gamora, and the others found me." "I am Groot?" "I don't know how a sand storm took me to another planet, Groot, it was 'magic," you say with slight sarcasm on the magic part. "What about all these machines," Mantis taps on one," what do they do?" "Beats me," you shrug again, "They're old and probably busted up anyway. Hey, wait, take a look at this." you excitedly point to a hole near the floor of the canyon.

"Ooh...what is it?" Mantis asks with curiosity, "That's the hole I came out of," you answer excitedly, feeling a sense of nostalgia. "What?" Mantis seemed confused. "I told you, it's my hole," you explain, "it's where I was made." "You had a mommy and a daddy who lived in this hole?" "Not made in THAT way," you correct, "Here, take a look," you walk backwards into the hole to show the two that it was your size. "It still smells the same as when I came to be the first time," you sigh contently. "I am Groot?" Groot was also confused. "I wasn't made the conventional way. It's kinda hard to explain really. One minute I wasn't existing, and the next, poof, I popped right out of this whole, with all the basic knowledge like being able to talk and stuff."
Mantis and Groot then take a good look at the others holes surrounding the canyon walls, "And these other holes. Were there others like you that were made in the same way?" "I am Groot?"
