Iris's lips were tinged blue from her slushie, and to her annoyance, Jay and Reed had continuously called her a smurf until she had threatened to hit them both.
"Such a spitfire," Reed mused from the front seat. He peered out of the window.
"Where are we going?"
Jay shook his head. "It's a surprise. Sort of."
"Sort of?"
Jay swallowed. "It's kind of...weird."
He briefly glanced at Reed, but Reed seemed unfazed. Jay continued.
"Whenever I would get...thoughts-I had two different places I would go. One when I was really serious, and the other when I just wanted to get my mind off everything and just breathe."
Reed looked at him thoughtfully for a moment. "That's not weird at all."
Jay let out a breath just as Iris popped up between them from the backseat.
"You're taking us to a place where you thought about killing yourself numerous times?" She asked. "Romantic."
Jay rolled his eyes and stopped the car.
"Don't hate on my place. And you'll have to be...um..."
"Um?" She questioned.
"Well, when we go in, you'll have to be quiet because technically we aren't supposed to go there-,"
"Wait, wait. Are you telling me that we're about to break in?"
"No!" He said quickly. "No, we aren't breaking in-well, not technically, but still!" He added on as he saw the looks on their faces.
He glanced through his back window, where he could see the bright, white glowing sign that said Warner Inc. He was giving a piece of himself to them, a piece he wasn't sure he was ready to give up, but they were already here, and there was no going back now.
"Okay, look-," he said, unbuckling his seatbelt. He turned to face them.
"My mom went on a date with the CEO of Warner Inc, I think. It's what I've gathered."
Reed choked on his slushie, but Jay had his eyes on Iris. She could get a bit loud, and they didn't need any unnecessary attention drawn to them.
"I have access inside the building, but only a certain few have roof access, which means we have to be quiet."
Jay flipped down the visor above his head and pulled a white card down, holding it between his fingers. Iris was practically shaking with excitement, whereas Reed was staring at the card warily.
"We wouldn't...go to jail, right?" Reed asked.
Jay hesitated. He doubted they would, if they got caught, but an image on a security guard chasing him flashed behind his eyes at the thought. He felt that was better kept to himself.
"Nope," he said, popping the 'p'. Reed didn't look convinced, but Jay didn't blame him.
"It'll be fine," he said. "As long as we stay quiet, and don't look suspicious. Just follow my lead."
Jay got out of his car and turned to look at the two.
"I don't think this is a good idea," Reed said as he got out, slamming his door shut.
