Reader quirk: Ideal
They look exactly like someone's dream person/partner/child, however they're incredibly insecure because no one sees them for them."Uraraka!"
"Deku, I'm not Uraraka..." I sigh for the umpteenth time as Deku blushes bright red
"Sorry, (y/n), you look so much like her!"
'I really don't...'
"It's fine, Deku. Not like it hasn't happened my whole life..." I mumble the last part to myself as I plop down in my seat and look at my reflection in the window.
"Alright, guys, we're going to a training facility so get going to the busses." Mr. Aizawa
"Everyone pair up by class rank and sit from the front to back!" Ida orders as the class walks outside to the buses.
Yeah, no one's going to follow that.
"Mina, wanna pair up?" Karamari rubs the back of his neck bashfully.
"Not Mina, she's over there." I point him in the right direction and wrap my arms around my waist, slipping past Ida to sit in the back by myself.
"Uraraka-"
"Deku, I'm not HER!" Tears prick at my eyes as I shove earbuds in and blast my music to drown everyone out. I can see him step back and sit with Bakugo, who clearly isn't happy with the arrangement, but tolerates it.
"(N/N), are you ok? That was kinda harsh, especially for you." Tsuyu looks over the seat at me and I shake my head, turning the music up. She seems to get the hint and moves to take the seat next to me so no one else would bother me.
"Tsu, back to your seat!" I roll my eyes at Glasses' loud mouth.
"This is my seat. My rank is one lower than (y/n)'s." God, I loved Tsu.
"But-"
"Take your seat Ida. We're departing." Mr. Aizawa gets on and takes the seat behind the driver. The class rep sits down in embarrassment next to Momo who's currently looking through magazines, presumably at dresses for the dance coming up. She was selected to represent class 1-A for the year and was taking the role pretty seriously.~one bus trip later~
I follow Tsu off of the bus and look up at the building we would be training in for the day. The enclosure was a giant dome, similar to Thirteen's training area, except for the obstacles inside. Mr. Aizawa leads us inside and introduces us to Midnight's training ground. There were moving rock walls that acted as cliffs and a rushing river around the entire grounds. Ropes hung from the ceiling and swayed gently with the freezing winds of the winter area that had a mini dome to itself.
Midnight splits us into groups of three and I groan, realizing I was with Deku and Uraraka.
"Ready to go, Uraraka?"
"Wrong one again, Deku." I sigh and roll my eyes as the real Uraraka comes up. I can see she's upset with the group assignments, but I don't care enough to ask why. We start heading to the hostage situation arena where we would be up against fake villains with tranquilizer guns.
The mission was simple: rescue the hostages and escort them safely to the designated zone. Quirks were allowed, but we were discouraged against hurting anyone.
"Okay, gameplan. (Y/n) goes in and distracts the villains while Uraraka floats the hostages up. I'll bounce around and take them to the zone as fast as I can. Fair?"
"Wait, they'll figure it out too easily! I'll look different to every one of them."
"Trust me, (y/n), you're the best for that role. All you have to do is distract them for a little while and we'll take care of the rest."
"Deku-"
"Let's go. We're running out of time."
I sigh and just follow them to the starting point. Sneaking around, Deku gives me the signal and I walk out, unarmed.
"Babydoll, what are you doing here? Did I forget my lunch again?" One lowers his pistol
"You better not be calling my girlfriend babydoll, Bryce." Another growls
"Your girlfriend? That's my wife!"
"Bitch, that's my best friend!"
"She's hot."
"Goddamnit, Joey!" The first turns and shoots the offending male," stop talking about my girl like that!"
Oh my fucking god, this is hilarious
I stifle my giggle and watch as Deku and Uraraka get every hostage except for one out in the midst of the guards' confusion.
"Guys, that's a kid! She's using her quirk, idiots!" I barely dodge the bullet and roll to the side.
Fuck
Projectiles start flying and it isn't long before one hits my arm and more land after the first. I cry out and suddenly I'm raced out of the raining pellets
"I've got you, Uraraka!"
"Goddamnit, Deku, I'M NOT HER!" I hit his chest before my body goes limp and he stops at the evacuation point. There's a scream and he drops me instantly, racing off back to the chaos
"You grabbed the wrong girl, you idiot!" Uraraka must be pissed if she's calling him an idiot. I groan as feeling starts returning to me and sit up, watching Deku race back to us with Uraraka in his arms.
"Deku, the last hostage is sti-"
"And time! Sorry, guys, you failed. Better luck next time." Midnight waves us towards the winter arena.
"You couldn't have kept them busy a little longer, (y/n)?"
"No, Deku! I told you it wouldn't work but you wouldn't listen and now we've failed."
"Don't you blame this on him. If you didn't look exactly like me, he would've been able to save them all!"
"Are you telling me I was supposed to take all their fire while you safely got everyone out?!"
"That's exactly what I'm saying!"
I gape in silence and just shake my head," whatever. I'm not helping you anymore if you're going to be a bitch about it."
"What did you call me?!"
"Read my lips, you're being a bitch. I can't control my quirk or who people see me as! It's not my fault he sees me and thinks I'm you. If anything, you should be flattered! You're his ideal person!"
"Guys, can we not fight? It looks really weird-"
"Stay out of it, Deku!" We both yell at him. I yank open the door and head in for the winter training. It's going to be a long day...
After we had gone through all the arenas, Midnight announces the closure of the training and Mr. Aizawa directs us back to the busses. I slide back into my seat and Tsu takes hers again, eyeing Ida who leaves us alone. Granted, he looked worried, but kept his mouth shut for once.
Luckily, they drop us off at the dorms and as we're heading in, Deku catches up," Ura-"
"GODDAMNIT, DEKU, I'M NOT URARAKA!"
Everyone stops instantly and stares as Deku steps back
"YOU'VE DONE THIS TIME AND TIME AGAIN AND I'M SICK OF IT! IS THIS SOME JOKE TO YOU?! Is it funny that I look exactly like her to you?! Do you enjoy torturing me like this: reminding me that no one sees me for me?! Reminding me that I'll never find someone who loves me?!"
"Your hair is (color) and (style/length)."
I freeze and start to turn around.
"Your eyes are (e/c) and bright, with a hint of sparkle in them."
"Ida... you see me... you see me!" I rush over and hug him tightly, burying my nose in his school jacket. I feel him stiffen but wrap his arms around me, one around my waist while the other sits on my head.
"Is no one gonna talk about how Deku sees her as Uraraka?!" Mina squeals
