I sighed in satisfaction as I locked the door behind me. I had just closed up my mom's shop and started walking along the path home. I had to pass through some dense forage on the way but I didn't mind. I always loved to watch the birds singing in the branches, with their vivid colors and entrancing son- "OOF!"
I stumbled back and looked up at the man before me, his strangely bright eyes scanning me up and down. I grew uncomfortable at his gaze," s-sorry, sir."
"What's a purty thing like you doin in this neck of the 'oods?" I was taken aback at his country accent and stepped back at his question.
"W-walking home."
"No, you're comin with me. I'll show ya a good time..." he snatched at me and I scream as I turned on my heel and ran away. I could hear his heavy steps behind me and I whip around the trees to try to shake him. I race away and hands grab me, pulling me into the shadows, as the man raced by. I shivered slightly at my situation as a voice cut through the silence," are you ok?"
"Mhm." I answer with his hand clamped over my mouth. He doesn't seem to understand so I lick it and he instinctively whips it away," ew, man! I just saved you and you lick my hand?!"
"I am not responsible for any injuries you may obtain from kidnapping me. Now who are you and why did you do that?" I ask coldly, masking the fear in my heart.
"My name is Tsubasa Otori and I saved you because I can't stand seeing people like that mistreat a woman. And why would I kidnap you?"
I blink and slowly relax as we talked and got to know each other better. I eventually had to go and bid him goodbye before jogging home. I sigh as I enter the warm building and greeted my mother. I grabbed a book, my mug, and a blanket, snuggling down into the armchair by the fire to relax. A tap rang into my ears after a few minutes and I brush it off as the tree branch outside. It repeated and I glance up at the closed curtains. I sigh and remove ky warm blanket, stepping away and opening the curtains to the bright moon. I gasped in surprise at what I found.
There, on the windowsill, was a bald eagle. It was scraping at the window and I opened it to let it in. It flapped to my mantel above the fire and screeched. A white paper caught my interest and I slowly walked to it. It allowed me to take the note off and I gaped at it. It read like this:
'Wanted to make sure you made it back safely. Send me a message if you did.
-Tsubasa.
P.s. My number is: xxx-xxx-xxxx call me- ;)'
