*Time-skip to the talent show*
The day had finally come, this year's talent show which was basically the end of the year party-except it's not cause the Ball is, but not all do students are invited so-and I was prepared for it.
Well, sort of.
Chriss was working background stuff with the technical guys. Summer was helping to supervise all the activities and Jack was-alledgedly-going to zipline from the top of the building to the stage and perform Goosebumps.
Aubrey and I had already practiced our lines and parts. It was a matter of time before we went up.
We were Fifth.
I was lying down, listening to music, in the lounge area when Aubrey approached.
"So how are you holding up?"
*removes headphones* "I'm holding up well, I guess. You?"
"A little anxious. It feels nerve-wracking," Aubrey said shrugging her shoulders before taking a seat next to me.
"Like there's a lot of things that could go wrong; what if you fluff your lines or I fall off the stage?"
"How would you fall off the stage, are you going to wear heels or something?'
"NOOO!" She exclaimed. "I might just, you know I don't know there are a lot of what ifs, you know."
"Mm-hmm." I said in a sarcastic manner, making her laugh.
The tension of the technical guys meant it was about 5 minutes till the show started.
"*laughs* You know you're funny"
"And you have a good sense of humour. Chriss won't laugh to anything that doesn't have a sport, video game or musical reference"
Now, I don't whether this was intentional or it was purely accidental but what happened next was completely unprecedented because she placed her hand on top of mine.
Not the just-grazing-and-by-mistake hand placement.
No.
It's the type that'll make you know that it might intentional with the hand placement.
Anyways, enough description. We were just there, like a paused video, not doing anything except looking into each other's eyes.
Inching closer by the second until......
"YOOO, WHAT UP MY [redacted]! Tech guys said y'all get up backstage or something." Chriss shouted
"Yeah." Summer, who trailed him, unenthusiastically said.
"Oh alright-I turned to face Aubrey-lets go"
Before we reached the stage though Chriss pulled me back.
"Seems like you've gotten some ass"
"What?"
"You know my cousin always said if you had the opportunity, you should see some ass, beat some ass and eat some ass"
