THE TWO ADULTS had since left the comfort of the restaurant and its acquired buzz of both the alcohol supplies and view of vibrancy. In flurries of miscommunication and misdirection of passing bystanders, they had successfully reached their complex and stumbled over their limbs to reach their homely door. Albeit, it took forty-five minutes longer than necessary.

Maybe alcohol wasn't the best idea for their first night in an unfamiliar city.

However, they had only themselves to blame. It was a mutual agreement to continue with the drinks, their well-tested alcohol tolerance wearing thin as the night's darkness got thicker. So, the pair drank, and drank, and drank. Celebration, they declared it.

"To us!" Nick cheered, raising his shot glass high, "And to New York!" It was their sixth round of drinks but not their last. Was it a bad idea? George would only find out when tomorrow arrived.

So, the latter brought up his glass against his friend's, the audible clink of their glasses satisfying both parties with a smile; this caused the pair to effortlessly gulp down their liquid poison without strain.

"Another round please, Cass," The drunken Nick called to their since befriended waitress. The bar/ restaurant establishment had been mostly cleared by the men's third round of drinks. However, attendance was now much more scarce the later the night became and the drunker they got.
But the men paid no mind to the passing strangers around them, this was New York after all: everyone here was a distant stranger to them here and they found comfort in knowing that.

Once the pair had located their set of keys, they quickly kicked off their shoes and tried their best to steady their unbalanced feet. Nick was the first to rush to their bathroom, hurling the contents of their well-paid dinner, alcohol and the majority of their food from the flight.
Their taxi driver made it their life goal to ensure optimum stomach swirling. George, being the soberer of the duo, ensured to tip slightly less (the colour of Nick's face said it all).

George was the first to crash on the bay window's balcony. Curling himself over the thin, unkempt seat cushions, he let a sleepy yawn fall from his lips before he was well and truly out with only the sound of Nick's vomiting and distant car driving to lull him to sleep.

Pretty patterns of electric blue and greys painted pictures from behind his eyelids and welcomed George to sleep in a wave of a warm summer sea. Luckily for George, he could swim.

"George?" The boy in question blinked, noticing the animatic hand move frantically in front of his face, "Snap out of it! George?"
