I made sure to go around the back of the field so that no one would see that I arrived alone. I stuff Fallon's skateboard in the bushes before I let myself be in view of anyone that turned around from the viewpoint of the bleachers.

A voice startles me barely after I began walking towards the crowd.

"Kasey," a familiar deep voice comes from behind me. I jump, my heart immediately trying to beat out of my chest.

"Jesus, Derek, don't do that," I hold my chest and let out an exasperated laugh.

"Do what?" A corner of his mouth tugs up.

"Um, sneak up on me like that," I scoff and resume walking to the field.

"Oh, that," he pretends to get it now, and I roll my eyes. Thankfully he didn't ask about how I got here, because that would definitely put a wedge in things.

I avoid his gaze, shoving my hands in my pockets and noticing that the game had started. It couldn't keep my thoughts distracted though as I remembered what almost happened between Derek and me. No word had been spoken of it, which made me wonder. If Derek really wanted it to happen, he would have done or said something since then, right?

My mind remained distracted during the game, twisting deep into thought about tonight, Derek, my friends, my family... what I'm even doing, because three months ago my world just entirely flipped. I never saw it happening like this, with the strange and wonderful people I've come to know.

A cold chill set upon my skin, and it took me a moment to realize that the rain was beginning again. I was beginning to think that it may not be such an inconvenience to my plan. I glance at Derek, wondering if he would catch on that I was up to something before the night was over.

Timing was everything. Standing near the sidelines, I paid close attention to the game and the time. It had to be the right time to leave; after the game ended, but before any of my friends leave.

I glance down at the time on my phone, counting the minutes till my plan officially sets into action. I tuck it back into my pocket, and tug my flannel closed. I fold my arms across my chest and do my best to shrug off the brisk air.

With it being the night before the full moon, Scott and Isaac almost literally kicked ass on the field. I felt bad for the other team, wincing at every hard hit the boys took. The two seemed carefree though, and even Stiles appeared to be having fun. Isaac spots me and grins cheerfully. I smile back and wave to him.

The game was nearly over when I thought of something that might help my case. Just a little distraction for someone that might not let me off easy tonight when it was time to leave...

"Hey, can I talk to you about something?" I blink the rain out of my eyes as it began to pour harder. Derek's eyebrows went up, and he nodded. I take the lead and wander a ways away from the bleachers and all of the people cheering on our boys.

Derek followed close behind me, and I found that I myself would get distracted too. I felt the thumping in chest grow the more I thought about it, but I let it be. I let it take over.

"What is it?" Derek asks me, eyes glued to me once we could hear each other without shouting over everyone else. I turn to him, letting my gaze land on his warm green eyes.

I could hear my heartbeat so clearly, feeling like there was a drum inside my chest. The beats make me uncertain of what I had planned to say, and if I wasn't too careful, I might say a little much.

"I, um..." I glance down, having lost all concentration. I try to start again, "The other night..."

"Kasey, you don't have to say anything."
