The next day, Thomas and I were walking to school.
It was a painfully silent walk, the school was only a few blocks away from my house.
And it only took a few minutes to go from school to that alley and only a few more minutes to go from school to home.
However, those few minutes felt like a few hours, no one said a word. Still, I could remember the time where silence meant nothing to me. .
It was early in the morning, we had finally arrived at school. The voices of the tens of girls I saw surrounding my former Best Friend Angel were extremely bothersome.
Angel was the first best friend I had. However, things had changed.
He suddenly became one of the 'populars' and left me lost in the never ending maze, of a cruel School Popularity Caste System. And with that, something inside me snapped like a tooth pick
"Angel, your so funny!" said one of the girls. "Fuckin' angel, thinks hes all that" I said. "Levi" he said, " Relax, why are you so jealous, anyways?" Thomas replied. "I don't know, I guess I just miss being his friend" I Said, looking down shamefully, as if I didn't mean that. "Thats sweet, but we all know that you'd kill him the first chance you got, no use hiding it" Thomas said, usually being the wise guy, more then I could We slowly made our way to the table. "Haha yeah, thats true, I suppose, we'll see what happens." I laughed. Then Thomas began to look at me with slight curiosity. I stared back nervously hoping he wouldn't ask about yesterday. "I know this isn't a good time but can I ask you something?" Thomas asked.
"I guess", I replied in a shaky manner
"Why did you start cutting?" He said.
However, Ever so suddenly, the teacher interupted.
"Okay, guys lunch time is over! Get back to class."
And Like a prisoner spared from punishment I left thomas with,
"Sorry, ill tell you some other day Thomas, bye!"
I quickly rushed to math class... my least favorite of all my least favorite subjects. Arriving with the bell, I took my seat next to Kelly (like I always do). "Nothin' like pickin' up girls with som' algebra" I thought to myself, setting my books down.
However, the teacher began to talk about Inequalities and my brain shut down, as I began to doze off.
I woke up at the end of the period being shaked down by the teacher, it took me a few minutes to realize that he wasn't Kelly, but when I did, I exploded out of the door on my way. It's funny how I thought, for a second that a forty year old man was a hot 15 year old. My brain needs mental help. Finding myself accidentally tackling Kelly and landing on top of her I gave a slight panicked look. She just stared at me. It felt like an extremely blissful eternity after that. Then I realize what I was doing and little did I realize that extremely blissful eternity was only thirty seconds and I quickly said, "Oh my God, Im SO sorry".
Speedily, I got up from her. She continued to look at me as if she just realized I had existed. My skin grew pale except for the two rosy bloches of blush on my cheeks. "Levi, Hey... its al-", I quickly ran off before I realized what she had said.
Later that day...
I found myself walking with Thomas again. Thank goodness the silence didn't eat me from the inside out like it usually did.
So, I decided to break the awkwardness of that moment
"Damn it, I hate this rain" I whined, looking up at the sky.
"You complain too much". He replied.
"Well I gotta get home, bye Thomas" I said.
"Bye". He answered softly as I made my way away from him
I started walking, as I made my way to the bus felt my whole body soaked
as if I was taking a shower out in public, my hair drooped, covering my eyes hindering my vision. My books were getting soggy in my book bag. Then, I look to the right to see a strange sight, I saw angel, but he was alone. I lifted a long lock of hair off of my eyes to see clearer. At that moment I saw him quickly turn and run in the direction of his house and disappear between the rain drops. However I thought lightly, little did I know what had really happened. . .
I continued to walk to the bus. Finally, I made it to the bus stop and I calmly asked for a ride home. The driver shaked his head dissatisfied and told me to get in, and of course I did.
Growing impatient, I looked all over the place to see if I was home yet. I could have sworn that I've been in this bus for at least fifteen minutes, way longer then what it takes to get home walking.
Suddenly, a large group of people started making there way to the bus.The bus came to a slow stop. There numbers were large like grains of sand on a seashore, their faces had so much anger and disgust they had seemed to had lost all sense of human sympathy. My heart began to race as they began to push the bus over. Violent crys resembling war crys resonated from that mob. My heart stopped, the bus was flipping on its side! I quickly got up to see what was happening once they managed to do it. All of sudden I saw a large man with a blow torch walk out from the crowd. Aiming that monstrosity at us, we cowered in helplessness
