 ALEX'S PERSPECTIVE:

Alex gazed over the shimmering, moon-light glow of the Ezera river and the glistening blink of snow-tipped mountains. Grass waved like liquid as the wind rushed over it, a slight shade of pink tinging its tips as the sun peered from behind the cliffs tentatively. The sky was a deep purple, but clouds like streaks of yellow and pink fire swirled around it. As Alex felt the wind brush her golden vaeliana skin and her hand rest on Soraya's flank, she felt herself tingle with a sense of safety.

Sighing with an unfamiliar but welcome sense of contentedness, she stood and strode away from the cliff. In a second, her calm was jarred.

Grinning proudly from behind her was a girl. A young girl with familiar brown eyes. Familiar brown hair. Familiar height. Familiar body. It was all too familiar.

  But then it clicked.

Alexandra Jennings was staring at Alexandra Jennings.

'So tell me...How's it been?' Alex-- the second one-- whispered, smirking. 'You know, being me? It's been rather satisfying to watch.'

Dread set in, somehow numbing and intensifying her emotions. But the confusion was about to become an explosion.

'Doing my bidding the past few years, I mean.'
