Chapter 36

(Leons pov)

Monday. It came sooner than expected. I told my mom I had to be at school early for a chess club meeting. I left home and made my way to Nattlie's house. She was already up and dressed for the day. She greeted me with a warm smile. I placed a kiss on her forehead as walked in.

I got dressed and did my hair. My hair has more life to it for a change. I walked out of the bathroom and gave a turn for Nattlie to see my whole outfit. By the look on her face she seemed impressed. This feels right.

"Wow I know my boyfriend is hot but never knew this hot." she said laughing while sliding her arms around my waist.

I gave a shy smile and bent down to kiss her, wrapping my arms around her small frame. I could do this all day, unfortunately Nattlie had other ideas and pulled away.

"We gonna be late if we don't get our butt's in gear. I don't know about you but I'm pretty excited for today. Just to see the look on his face when he sees us walking through the doors. He will know he came second and that he lost this so called bet of his." said Nattlie sounding a little angry near the end.

I gave a little laugh and pulled her close again. "You not some trophy to be won" I say trying to match my sincerity with my honesty.

"You always say the perfect things Bash."

If only she knew they not just words and that it is how I truly feel maybe she wouldn't doubt me as much. I know she tries to trust me completely but I still feel she's holding something back.

(Nattlies pov)

Beth tipped off the school newspaper that I have a boyfriend. The school knows I don't really date guys who are still in school and if I did it was more a thing of a hook up here or there, nothing serious, but now that Nattlie Miller has a boyfriend... well that changes things completely.

We arrived at the school with no one in sight, that didn't last long though.

I had my handbag hanging from my left arm and holding Leon's hand with my right. Leon opened the school doors with his right hand and we walked in. That's when all hell broke loss. Every girl group in the hallway had their jaws dropped to the floor or trying to get Leon's attention with a wink, every guy talking to their friends and Luke... not yet seen.

Freddie Hunt, head of the school newspaper taking pictures as if Leon and I were on the runway. In between the pictures he tried asking Leon questions but I cut him off quickly.

"Sorry Freddie. We will be taking questions at lunch time... say the quad?" I say loud enough for all to hear. I need to give people time to talk, you know, come up with some conclusions. It will do wonders for the school news paper as everyone will wanna have a copy of the latest story so in the end, the school also wins.

"Yes of course Miss Nattlie see you then." said Freddie running off.

The hallways hissed with gossip all morning. Word must have gotten hold of Luke as between a lesson I went to the ladies and as I was powdering my nose, he barged in.

"What the hell are you doing here. This is the girls bathroom! Get out!" I say spitting fire.

"You and my brother hey?" he said looking at me plainly.

"Yes and so what... Who I love is my problem and my choice. Not yours or anyone else's!" I turn back to the mirror and finish up my make up.

"You don't even know him!" he says angrily and walked out.

I know more than Luke thinks I know. He would be surprised to find out what I actually do know.

Lunch came and it was time for all the questions. I chose the quad as there is room for many people to crowd around us.

"So Nattlie word on the street is Mr. Darcy here is a fake. What is your comment?" asked Freddie holding his phone near my mouth.

I gave a smile. "Mr. Darcy?"

"Well yeah... that is what the school is calling this tall, handsome, quiet guy you got beside you." said Freddie.

I couldn't help but laugh and gave Leon a look. He looked impressed with himself and being compared to Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice, but the description does suit him if you ask me.

"Some also say that he is your hot cousin from Italy who was twice removed... on your mothers side."

I looked at Freddie. "Ummm that's a little detailed if you ask me, and no. We are dating and in no way related."

I could see a few faces around us not looking to convinced. I turned to my Mr. Darcy but before I could do anything Leon placed his hand on the side of my cheek and pulled me in for a kiss. Everyone went quiet and I must say it was a little hard not to get too lost in the kiss.

"Well that makes it clear... not... related" said Freddie quietly while writing it down on his note pad.

"So can we have a name or are we to stick with Mr. Darcy?"

As I was about to give a fake name Leon spoke up for the first time.

"Leon...Leon Collins."

Everyone looked shocked and started whispering.

"You mean you related to Luke?" asked Freddie a little shocked.

"Identical twins" said Leon then looking at me with a sweet smile.

What happened to the plan? I thought we were gonna give him another name but he's laying all the cards on the table. Well it is up to him after all and I'm sure he knows what he's doing.

Everyone started looking around for Luke.

"Well now that you mention it, it is unmistakable. I guess there's gonna be a few more stories in the future on who is the better twin" said Freddie jokingly. Everyone laughed at the joke but Luke didn't seem to find it funny and stormed off.

The rest of the lunch break was asking questions such as "Pretending to be a nerd was it really part of a social experiment or not?" and so on. Nothing too detailed but Freddie made a huge effort to get down every last detail said.
