Kagami Tsurugi was not a figure skater. However, she had worked at the skating rink for a year and a half, without her strict mother figuring out. But then, when Kagami was continuously skipping her fencing lessons, the truth came out. Mrs. Tsurugi was furious with her daughter for disobeying, and had shipped her off to China with her cousins for six months. Now, she was back.

Although she'd never admit to it, Marinette had a bit-no, more than a bit-of a crush on Kagami. She was fierce and feisty but always had a soft spot when it came to Marinette. Not to mention, Kagami was absolutely stunning. She was tall with a curly black bob cut, and honey brown eyes and freckles.

"Heya, Dupain-Cheng!" called Kagami. Marinette grinned and her face reddened as she walked over to the counter.

"Hi, Kagami! How was China?" she said, grinning ear to ear.

"It was great-oh which reminds me" Kagami began pulling through her backpack, before pulling out a small box. "I bought you this."

Marinette opened it. Inside the box was a stunning pair of earrings shaped like ladybugs.

"Because you're the ladybug." explained Kagami. Marinette smiled. Marinette was, in the skating world, known as 'Ladybug', ever since she'd first competed with a ladybug themed program when she was four. Even her social media handles were all @ladybugskates. Marinette went behind the counter and threw her arms around Kagami.

"Mimi, I love them, they're gorgeous." she said, using her nickname for Kagami. Kagami's face flushed.

"I'm glad. I instantly thought of you when I saw them."
Marinette grabbed Kagami's hands, before Luka called her over. He was driving her home today.

"Okay, bye, I'll see ya tomorrow!" called Marinette, running to Luka. Kagami smiled kindly at her. "So, you happy Kagami's back?" Luka asked, smirking at Marinette. She punched him playfully.

"It's much better than having the Agreste kid here." she said. Luka stared at her. "What?" He shook his head.

"Mari, you know how much you mean to me, but do you think maybe you're being kind of unfair to him?" he asked. Marinette scoffed.

"Luka, he's friends with Chloe. Somebody who aligns themself with someone so horrible, is going to be horrible."

Luka fixed his eyes on Marinette. They were maybe two inches apart, and Luka had stopped the car in front of her house.

"Marinette, you can be so one dimensional." he chuckled. Then, before Marinette knew what was going on, Luka was kissing her. She was shocked. Did she want this? Did she not? She didn't know. She really didn't. She pulled out of the kiss.

"Marinette, I don't know why I did that-" Luka started. Marinette didn't look at him. She couldn't bear it.

"I have to go." she said, opening the car door and grabbing her bag. "Thanks for the ride." And with that, she left his car.

Marinette had trouble falling asleep that night. She clung to her stuffed ladybug, Tikki. She didn't like Luka like that anymore. She really didn't. But how would she tell him? She also had to make things right with Adrien. Whether she liked it or not, he was her skating partner. But, she knew that before she did anything else, she needed to arrange a way to avoid Luka at all costs. She grabbed her phone from beside her bed, and dialed Alya. Surprisingly enough, she picked up.

"Hello?" she answered drowsily.

"Hey, it's Marinette. Sorry to wake you, but I need you to help me with something."

"What could you possibly need help with this early?"

"I-you know how you pick me up in the mornings and Luka drops me off in the evenings because my parents refuse to buy me a car?"

"Yeah..."

"Well, I was wondering if, for a little bit, you could drop me off too?"
"Um...why? Did you fight with Luka or something?"

"..."

"Marinette?"

"Yeah, something like that?"
"Okay, I guess. You'll have to put up with Nino though, he rides with me sometimes."

"That's fine."

"Kay, great."
"Hey, um Alya?"

"Hmm?"

"Thank you."

"Good night, Marinette."
"G'night Al."
