Asking and Beginning To Attend

It was a few days after Jax and I had gone to the library and he'd asked me to go to the dance with him and told me he thouht Jack liked me because he was going to ask me to the dance. Jack hadn't said anything about it and Jax and I hadn't bothered to tell our friends we were going together because we always did so we figured they'd just expect it.

We were leaving Proffessor Sebastian's classroom to go to lunch when Jack asked to speak to me privately for a minute first. I'd areed since I had no reason not to, although Jax seemed annoyed when I did. He gets like that sometimes, Ollie always gives him funny looks once he thinks I can't see. Sometimes I do, sometimes the others just tell me later.

"So what's up?" I ask Jack once we're standing alone in a little alcove in the wall.

"I was wondering if you'd like to go to the ball together?" He asked, he sounded confident and composed. In other words he sounded more like Jax when he asked me to go than Jax had. Odd. I knew my answer though, it was no. I'd already said I'd go with Jax and so I would. Besides, Jack and I are just friends, I woulnd't go with him anyway I don't think.

"Sorry, I'm already going with Jax," I said casually. He looked down. Odd. Maybe... maybe Jax was right. But I didn't see Jack like that at all...

"Oh, okay. I forgot you guys always go to stuff together." He forced a smile, I could tell, but I said nothing.

"Well, we should probably be back to the others... don't want them to think we're up to something." I walked away, feeling a bit uncomfortable being alone with Jack. He followed me back to the others and we got lunch quickly and sat down. Isat next to Jax, partly because I knew it would end badly if Jack did partly because I still felt a bit uncomfortable and being near Jax allways helped with that.

Jack sat down in the only other open seat... across from me and Jax. Jax looked at me once and tossed his arm over my shoudlers and looked at Jack like he might kill him. He probably thought Jack had made me uncomfortable on purpose or something stupid, although he did know Jack liked me so... Jack looked down at his food instead across the table and we ate in awkward silence for a while before Jax spoke up.

"So... what'd you guys need to talk about, Theif?" I ignored the fact that he only addressed me and not Jack too.

"Oh y'know... just a had a question for Gilly, s'all..." Jack answered even though Jax had addressed me was looking right at me and not him.

"And what might the question be?" Jax said turning to look at Jack, you could feel the tension in the air as Jax tried to keep his voice calm.

"Jus' wanted to know it she'd got a date for the ball. Since y'know I haven't, I figured we could friends or somethin'," Jack said as casually as he could. "But she said yous were already going toegther."

"Oh. Alright then, I suppose," Jax said, regaining his composure. What in Enchantasia did he think Jack'd asked me? Maybe I should get him out of there.

"Hey, on the subject, Jax, I think we need to talk about our outfits for the ball. Let's go outside and get some air while we do, I've been stuck in here all day and we only have half a day of classes so we don't need to worry about being late." I then grab his arm and pull him out of the cafeteria and head toward the front doors.

When we get outside neither of a talk for a while we just walk around, then I decide we might as well talk about something. It's not like we actually needed to figure out what to wear though, we did that already in the library. I told him I wanted to leave the RLWs and he wasn't suprised in the slightest.

"I'll tell Raz for you though, if you want." He offers casually, I had (thankfully) gotten him completely calmed down before the Happily Ever After Scrolls reporters could try to interveiw him and write about 'Prince Jackson Seen Upset Before Royal Ball: Could It Have Something To Do With A Girl?' or some other nonesense.

Him and Jack had gotten into another arguement as they seemed to do lately. We were both already made up and waiting with the rest of the royals (and Ollie and Kayla their special gsusts and Jocelyn whom Gilly assumed was waiting for Harlow or something) to be annouced at the ball. Kayla and Maxine had done my hair and stuck in a very pretty up-do that was also very out of the way- just in case. I also had a pair of shorts on under my purple ball gown (Jax and I had on purple with a few blue accents), Wilson was also with me. He was sitting tucked away in a pocket Kayla had magically added to my dress last minute, though thankfully no one noticed it was slightly botched.
