What was Anna trying to do?

Late Saturday evening, Maxine, Ollie, Kayle, Jocelyn, AG, Hayley, Jax and I were sitting by the fire in AG's pop-up castle, Beauty and Sebastion were out on a double date with Raz and Eugene, so it was just us kids. I honestly thought I was going have to hex Kayla's mouth shut or something to get her to stop squealing.

Jocelyn was absolutely fuming about how 'honesty, their out of their minds! Me and AG can go to a dance together without dating!' Which brought light to a whole new thing about 'how do you guys put up with this, Gilly?' Which was odd. Jocelyn was being odd. She seemed a bit too upset for people to have just been spreading rumors, but I suppose they would have told us if they really were a thing.

We had bigger problems at the moment, though. And those problems, of course, were because of Anna. I don't know what's with her, one minute she wants nothing more than to fix our relationship, the next she's pff ruining it again! She's starting to make me mad, but that's not the problem either. The problem is that Anna is definitely up to something. And it has something to do with me and Jax.

"What do you think the traitor was trying to do?" Jocelyn asked, that was what she called Anna. She was on edge still from the article earlier. I can't say I blame her, honestly.

"I don't know.." I say honestly. I wish I did. But I knew she wouldn't tell me, or at least as that was what the record would state.

"It obviously has something to do with you two," Ollie says, gesturing to me and Jax (whose arm was still around my shoulders).

"Wonderful observation, Funklehouse." Jocelyn snapped. Whenever she was in a bad mood she was even snipper than usual.

"Hey! It's not Ollie's fault you got guys got caught at the ball!" Kayla said, she was more upset than Ollie.

"Did I say it was?" Jocelyn snapped again.

"No.." Kayla had lost that arguement quickly.

Jocelyn didn't respond to Kayla, instead she adressed me, "Gilly,"  she started, "has she done anything else that could have something to do with this?"

"Not that I can recall. She asked me yesterday if we were dating and I said no, you guys were there-" I pointed to Ollie and Jocelyn "-she just walked over and asked and I said no and she disappeared."

"You sure she's never mentioned it before?" Hayley asks.

"Yup," I respond.

"Maybe she thought is she was subtle we wouldn't catch on?" AG suggested.

"Probably," Jax says and sighs. Ugghhh. He is upset. I should've know. I had more questions than just about Anna though, Jax. Kissed. My. Forehead. Either something's up or I'm going to make a fool of myself the next time we're alone together.

Unfortunately that time didn't come on Saturday, as Maxine and I walked back to our dorm I was so lost in thought about what had happened the last two days I barely knew what she was talking about, much less what she was saying.

We got to our dorm and I changed into pajamas, having only said about five words to Maxine since we left the others. I could tell she could tell something was up. I just didn't know how to tell her, and I certainly didn't know what to ask Jax.

"He's too afraid to lose you to say anything, that's why he's frustrated," Maxine says rather randomly. At first I have no clue what she means, then I realise. She's talking about Jax.

"What do you mean?" I asked, I was both confused and intrigued.

"Jax. He obviously likes you. I mean come on, why else would he be jealous of Jack wanting to ask you to the dance?" Kayla said floating out from behind Maxine and scaring us both. "Sorry, I thought you knew I was here."

"It's fine, but Jax doesn't like me. We're bestfriends. That's all we are. Right?"

"I don't think so.." Kayla said honestly.

"I don't either," Maxine said her good eye looking down, her bad one spun a few times.

"You guys don't act luke your just bestfriends, Gilly. I mean he kissed you! Kinda. On the forehead, but still! You would have freaked if the was Jack or Ollie, wouldn't you?" Kayla asked.

"I- yes. I would have.. but it's different with Jax." I said and the realization dawned.

"Exactly." Kayla smiled, "it's different with Jax."

"Oh my god." Wilson nuzzled my hand as I began to realize how many signs I'd missed. There was definitely something different going on with me and Jax. Just one more thing to change, I suppose. Typical. "I think I need some sleep." The other girls nodd and Kayla leaves as climb into my bed. Something is about to change.

Anna's POV at midnight

"She know, Gretel, I'm telling you. You may not like her but even you said she wasn't an idiot! She. Knows." I cried.

"No, she doesn't. Anna don't be stupid." One of my two best friends, Gretel told me in a snippy voice.

"But-" I started only to cut off by Gretel after a few seconds.

"Shut up, Anna! She doesn't know, now stop talking before we get caught!" She snapped. I stopped in my tracks. "And keeping walking, we have a schedule to stick to."

I started walking again immediately. I didn't want her to hex me again, not that she did it on purpose. She just said an incantation wrong. That's all. It's not like she's done right before (I mean she has but she's my friend, so of course it wasn't on purpose).

I stopped again. "Gretel, we should be doing this."

"Do you want your sister back or not?" She asks. That's why we're doind all this. It's so things can be like they used to be with me and Gilly. That's not bad. Is it?

"Yes. I want things with Gilly to be like they used to be," I sigh.

"Then come on." Gretel said and grabbed my arm to make me continue with our plan. I know Gilly wouldn't approve, but it's the only way to get her back.

Once the 'trap' is set, Gretel and I sneak back to our dorm. As we walk by Gilly and her orge friend's dorm I notice her light is still on. Well, it is Saturday.

Back to GIlly's POV

I felt like something was up. I couldn't explain it, but Kayla keeps telling me that's part of being a fairy. So I called the others to  mine and Maxine's dorm at midnight.

"Okay. Why are we here, Cobbler?" Jocelyn was not happy to be woken up at midnight and asked to sneak right under Harlow's nose.

"She had a fairy prediction thingy," said Ollie. None of us really knew what it was supposed to be called.

"Did it say anything that can help us figure out what's going on?" Jocelyn asks, exaperated but not quite mad anymore.

"Well..." I say.

Suspense!!! Also, sorry this is more dramatic than I originally thougth it would be.
