10 Years Later
"Mum."
Silence.
"Mummy."
Nothing.
Amelia felt herself slowly come out of a deep sleep as her body was being slightly rocked back and forth.
Her eyelids felt like 1,000 pounds as she lazily lifted them open.
"What is it darling?"
Her oldest two children stood eagerly, at the side of her bed.
"Mummy, could you please make us some breakfast?", pleaded Lucian.
At only 5 years old, Lucian was already the spitting image of his father. He inherited the very same silver-blonde hair, as well as his father's cool grey eyes.
Not a lick of Amelia could be detected anywhere, except for her nose. Yes, Lucian definitely had her nose.
She remembered fondly how her and Draco had spent a long time debating on what the name of their first child, their first son should be.
He didn't want it to be Lucius, as that was his father's name and his own middle name.
"We should let that die with me," He had said.
But Amelia wanted Draco's legacy to continue, so she suggested Lucian as a compromise.
"I thought Daddy said he was making you breakfast?" Amelia asked.
"He did, but mummy it's so burnt we can't hardly eat it." A small voice rose up.
Amelia smiled at her daughter, innocent, little Aurelia.
Having just turned 3, she resembled Amelia more these days.
Her hair, strawberry blonde, her eyes still a cool grey.
Amelia laughed and threw the covers back, "Very well. I should've guessed, poor daddy isn't the best cook is he?"
The children giggled with a shake of their heads.
The three of them wandered into the kitchen where Amelia made them some eggs and toast. It looked like Draco had attempted to make pancakes but they were almost black.
Amelia laughed as she dumped them in the bin. She made a mental note to give him a thorough lesson in cooking 101 later.
"Do you guys know where daddy went?"
"Library." Lucian muffled with cheeks full of food.
"Thank you darling." She said kissing his forehead.
Amelia walked into the library to find Draco with his back to her, holding up a book.
She could hear him quietly reading it out loud.
A loose floorboard gave her away, and he turned around.
She laughed as she noticed he had their youngest, Theodore, strapped into a baby carrier across his chest.
"Good morning darling, I thought you were going to sleep in. I already made the children breakfast."
He gently pecked her on the lips and stroked her cheek with his thumb.
"Yes, well I thought maybe, you know-" she struggled to find an excuse.
He smirked and raised an eyebrow, "They asked you to make it for them didn't they?"
"Yes, but good effort darling really," She said trying not to laugh.
"Listen those pancakes were bloody good, just needed extra syrup is all."
