Amelia couldn't believe how fast the years had gone by. It felt like just yesterday she had received her letter from Hogwarts, but that was 6-almost 7 years ago.

Amelia pulled her coat together at the front to keep the crisp September chill out. She patiently waited at platform nine and three quarters to return to Hogwarts for her 7th year. Her long, red hair blew with the wind and she feel the cold air seep into her lungs.

Her mother and father stood proudly beside her to see her off, along with her older brother who had graduated 2 years earlier. She would truly miss not having Cardan around at Hogwarts but it was also nice to be able to get into mischief and him not around to OWL their parents of it.

Little rat, he was.

"You have everything you need, dear?" Her mother smiled. Amelia nodded and gave her one last squeeze as she heard the train start to pull into the station.

"Yes, mother." She moved from her mother to her father and gave him a squeeze.

"Make us proud, poppet. We know you will. Owl us when you can!" He beamed.

She moved to hug her brother, who was slightly reluctant to do so, "I may visit for a Quidditch game if I can. But I doubt the Ministry will give me too much time off." He said.

Cardan worked in the Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes, meaning he helped in  repairing accidental magical damage.

"Sounds good brother, don't forget to write me please." Amelia said, and with that pushed her luggage trolley to the train.

It wasn't log after she boarded that she spied her best friend, Ivory Staghart, bouncing down the corridor. Ivory immediately lit up when she noticed Amelia sitting in their usual cabin. They had sat in the very same one for nearly all 7 years.

"Amelia! It's so good to see you!" She hugged Amelia with such force, she nearly tackled her to the ground.

"Ivory! Godric, it's been what, almost a month since I've seen you?"

"Far too long, for sure. Anything new since then?"

Ivory sat across from Amelia and flicked her pale blond hair over her shoulder. It wasn't a stretch to say she was easily one of the prettiest girls in their year. She had bright green eyes and clear porcelain skin. She also was an impressive 5'7, which meant her legs went for days.

Amelia shrugged, "No not really, I mean ever since you came to my birthday party nothing else has changed. Being 18 feels the same as 17, really."

Ivory's eyes suddenly lit up, "Well you'll never guess what I just heard. There's a new Defense Against the Dark Arts professor. Madam Craft retired over the summer so now we have a new one. All I know is that it's a he."

Amelia's eyebrows arched, "Oh? Damn, I liked Craft. Right before N.E.W.T's too."

Ivory waved her hand in dismissal, "Please, you'll be fine. They could have a Bogart teach the class and you'd still be top student. In fact, when Craft retired they should've called you and asked you to teach."

The girls both giggled.

Suddenly the glass door to their cabin ripped open.

"Ladies."

Their dearest friend, Alan Prott, plopped down beside Ivory and leaned in.

"Don't stop on account of me, what are you two going on about now?"

Amelia rolled her eyes, Alan was the poster boy for a Ravenclaw. He was definitely a know-it-all and that included making everyone's business, his.

"Well, Ivory here was just telling me of our new DADA professor."

Alan nodded and pushed his rectangular glasses up the bridge of his nose.

"Ah yes, I've already heard about this. Apparently he graduated from Hogwarts the year after the war and is from House Slytherin like you guys." He said confidently.

Amelia couldn't help but feel a smile curve her lips. So he was from the same house as her? How interesting.

Ivory giddily clapped her hands, "How exciting! I hope he's hot, maybe I'll pay attention."

Alan rolled her eyes, "Brad Pitt teaching the class couldn't make you pay attention Ivory."

Ivory tilted her head, "Who the bloody hell is Brad Pitt?"

"A muggle movie actor, nothing you pure bloods would know anything about." Alan said, his tone dripping with sarcasm.

Alan was a muggle-born wizard. As you can tell, it didn't effect him, much.

Amelia playfully hit his leg, "Quiet you. Go on and dive into one of the six books I'm sure you packed for the train ride."

Alan clutched his book bag to his chest and looked down, "I only packed four thank you very much."

Three Hours Later

Ivory stepped into their cabin from a trip to the trolley, she obsessed over chocolate frogs.

"Amelia, you won't believe who I just saw!" She shook Amelia from what had been a very enjoyable nap.

Amelia sat up and rubbed her eyes, "Better be the bloody Queen."

"No silly, it was Drake Phoenix! Gryffndor's hottest quidditch player to ever exist!"

Alan groaned, as he too had been sleeping, "Good grief woman, keep your yelling to a minimum yeah? Who the hell cares about Drake Phoenix anyway? Nothing but a twat if you ask me."

Ivory scoffed, "Well it's a good thing I didn't ask you then isn't Alan? He's so fucking fit."

Amelia shrugged, "I could care less about Phoenix. Alan's right, I've heard nothing but bad things about him. Apparently he's a right dick."

Ivory sat down in her seat with a heavy thud, "Fine, I'll just have him all to myself."

As soon as those words had left her mouth, Drake Phoenix walked past their cabin and Amelia had to do everything in her power not to drool.

He was an easy 6'3, with jet black hair, and piercing hazel eyes. His hair had grown over the summer, and he had toned muscles that he didn't have before.

She felt her eyes follow him from one end of their cabin to the other as he walked by.

Suddenly, a cloth like item hit her face and upon picking it up she realized it was Alan's handkerchief.

"For the drool pouring out of your mouth." He said with a smirk pointing to the corner of his mouth.

Amelia threw it back at him. "Fuck off!" she laughed.

"I knew you'd agree with me." Ivory winked at Amelia.
