"Amelia?"

A pair of fingers snapped in front of Amelia's face jerking her focus back to reality.

It had been days since her and Professor Malfoy had been in the owlery and she couldn't stop replaying the night in her head.

Her friends looked at her with suspicion, "Sorry, you were saying?"

Ivory rolled her eyes and popped a piece of bread in her mouth, "I was saying that Cliff Kettles asked me out. If it goes well maybe I'll have a date to the Yule Ball."

Amelia noticed Alan stiffen given this new information. He hadn't made the Quidditch team like he hoped-though Amelia couldn't say she was surprised.

"Well, I hope it goes well. He's probably getting ready for the Slytherin game tomorrow," Amelia said, feeling a warm buzz flow through her just talking about it. She had always loved Quidditch, and everything about it.

Gathering with friends and family, having a glass (or 8) of butter beer and watching some of Hogwarts' finest men play their hearts out.

"Is your brother still coming?" Alan asked.

Amelia nodded, "I have to pick him up at the train station at 6."

"Can't he just apparate onto the grounds?" Ivory asked.

Alan let out a snort, "No one except the teachers can apparate to and from Hogwarts, everyone knows that."

Ivory's face slightly reddened, "I didn't." she mumbled.

The day surprisingly flew by quickly, and before Amelia knew it, she was off to meet her brother at the train station.

The cool air nipped at her neck as she pulled her coat closed.

Patiently, she waited on the platform as she saw the Hogwarts Express roll in, blowing steam from its top.

She shuffled her feet nervously, it had been almost 2 months since she'd seen Cardan before she left for school.

After a brief moment, she spotted his tall frame break the evening fog's grasp and appear from the train.

Without hesitation she ran up and wrapped her arms around his neck.

He staggered back upon her sudden embrace, and once steadied he returned it by squeezing her tightly.

"I take it you haven't missed me at all," He chuckled setting her down.

Cardan was a whole foot taller than Amelia, standing at 6'5.

"Shut up. Welcome back to your old stomping grounds. How does it feel?" She asked taking hold of his suitcase.

He shrugged as they began their walk to the inn at Hogsmeade.

"Feels about the same, weird to think about how much time has passed. Not to mention my little sister is about to graduate which is much weirder."

Amelia gave a light laugh, "It's weird to me too. I don't even know where I want to go from here."

"You've still got some time to figure it out. Not much, but some."

After dropping Cardan's bags off at the inn, they headed towards the Quidditch arena where they met Ivory and Alan.

"Cardan, you remember my friends." Amelia motioned to the two young wizards.

He nodded, "I do. Pleasure to see you both again."
