Amelia and Professor Malfoy kept their distance for a few days, other than the unavoidable interaction they had as she graded papers in his office.
It felt as though neither one of them knew how to proceed, or even if they should proceed.
Amelia tried to distract herself by immersing herself in her homework and her friends. She had just sat down to lunch with Alan and Ivory when the owls started to drop letters in.
She had a letter from her parents and one from her brother.
Before she could open them, she shifted her attention to Alan, as she could've sworn something positively ludicrous had come out of his mouth.
"You're going to what?"
Alan pushed his circular framed glasses up his nose, "I said I'm going out for the Quidditch team tomorrow. They're in need of a chaser."
Amelia looked at Ivory who mirrored her expression.
"Alan, you hate Quidditch." Ivory protested.
He rolled his eyes as he used to fork to shift the food around on his plate, "I don't hate it. I just think it'd be good for me to change things up this year. Try something new."
Amelia cocked an eyebrow at him, "Would this, perhaps, have anything to do with the winning over of some lucky lady's heart?"
Alan's face immediately grew red, "Don't be daft, there's no one I fancy, I just-"
"Save it, whoever she is, I'm sure she would like you just as well without the Quidditch," Ivory said with a smile.
Amelia noticed Alan's face turn a deep red as she began breaking the red seal on the cream colored envelope, Amelia decided she would open her brother's letter first.
Amelia,
Looked at this year's Quidditch Roster and decided to come for the Gryffindor v. Slytherin Game. Keep working hard and I'll see you soon.
All my love,
Cardan
Amelia couldn't help but squeal with excitement.
Ivory curiously leaned over, "What? What's happened?"
"My brother is coming to watch the Gryffindor v. Slytherin Game!"
Alan looked up from the textbook he had been reading, "That's in a couple days."
Amelia eagerly shook her head, she couldn't have been more excited. She has missed her brother dearly and felt like some sibling time was just what she needed.
As she tucked his letter away, an owl dropped another letter right in front of her.
Amelia Blackwood,
Report to Headmistress McGonagall's office immediately.
"Shit, what's that about?" Ivory asked peering over to read it.
Amelia shot her a knowing look, which in turn made Ivory's mouth make an O shape.
"What? What does it say?" Alan asked.
As Amelia walked towards the door to exit the great hall she heard Alan huff.
"No one tells me anything."

Amelia quickly made her way to the Headmistress' Office, she could pretty much guess what it was about. Nevertheless, it pissed her off to think that Malfoy had gone and reported Drake without consulting her first.
