Hello, friends! I'm well aware that it has been WAY too long since you've had an update with this story, and I'm truly sorry for the delay. In full honesty, I needed time off to work out my academics, personal well-being, and future. The winter months are always very rough on my mental health and I took a lot of time to not stress about chapter uploads.

But, another enormous reason as to why I've been lacking my attention on book 2 of this series is because I'm currently working on revising the entirety of book 1 (again). My plan, originally, was to publish book 1 into an e-book at the end of January as a little celebratory thing for my birthday. I've come to realize this might take a very long time, though. So, in the meantime, you will all be receiving a very revised version of The King's Prey here on Wattpad! Whoop whoop!

I'm hoping to have this out by mid/late summer. My college schedule is looking to be a lot more manageable this semester than last semester, so I'm hoping I'll actually stick to this projection.

Since certain aspects of TKP's storyline will be immensely changing, there's a possibility I might hold off on finishing book 2 until the revised version of TKP is released. I've so far rearranged a lot of the beginning scenes, developments of the characters, and important details that play into book 2. But, if it gives you anything to look forward to, there will be a shit ton of extra chapter scenes once this series is complete (stuff I basically thought about adding in and wrote but never did because it didn't fit into the storyline or wasn't important in the given moment).

I love you all so much and have missed interacting with you guys! I'm once again sorry for falling off the face of the earth, but I hope this makes up for it.

Love,

Pegasus xx

Through the haze of everything, I witness Maddox's dark figure move through the massacre—straight for Serofina. My poor sister is petrified in place, her body rigid from this sudden chaos—by the threats our father had said to her only moments ago.

I don't give a second thought to what I do next. Charging up and forward from my crouched position, I take four long strides before throwing my full weight into my father, the force somehow sending both of us hurtling to the edge of the cabin's debris.

His back is the first thing to impact with the grass and dirt, choking a hefty grunt out of him. The blow ignites any wounds under my ruined suit, but I keep a firm hold on his arm as we roll against sharp, jagged pieces of wood and stone. At first, I have the upper hand, taking the male from behind as I sink my now-clawed hand into his thick jacket, feeling it meet rugged skin. My other hand attempts to snap his jaw off of his skull, trying to conjure any last bit of my fleeting powers—anything that can be used against him.

"I want to show you every single bit of pain you've ever inflicted on anyone in your life," I hiss at Maddox. "Including me. Including my family!" The hand gripping his face turns beastly, too, as sharp daggers carve themselves into his already-scarred face.

He hollers out, slamming me against the forest floor and throwing me off of his back. Now over top of me, he finds my wrist still latched onto his thick coat as he crushes it beneath his iron grip, breaking its hold. The blood from his face drips onto mine as a result of the change of gravity, the wound I inflicted only catching my gaze briefly. I'm already screaming out in agony, my nerves on fire as the excruciating sensation blinds my vision.
