Loving Daniel

Chapter 10

Claire

"Lock the doors," Mr. Kraven ordered me and I looked at him with a raised brow. "What I'm about to say needs not to be interrupted."

"You know if Daniel came he would be angry." We both knew too well how Daniel would react.

"I have someone who is going to keep him busy with a bit of work until we are finished with our talk." Nodding to him I locked the door.

"Come sit down beside me." He told me and I did.

"That boy can't even keep his mouth shut." He smiled taking my hand in his hands. It was as if I was a small child. "What has he told you?"

"Not much but that you were the one who had put him in the place to take another woman to the even with him. He also added that you were the one who had made him go to Geneva and go meet that girl." turning towards him I looked at him he had truly gone weak.

"And what else?" He asked without looking at me but at the door in front of him.

"That involves me somehow too." there was not much I know and I wanted him to tell me more about it.

"Why would do this Mr. Kraven put him in such a position and cause a rift between us?" I asked because I needed to know. He breathed out a sigh as he closed his eyes.

"It's true that I had been the one in him setting him with that girl. He had followed all my orders ads I had wanted him to. However, it was not my intention to cause a rift between you. It was to get things done as needed." Letting go of my hand he looked at me.

"I want a promise from you." I could not understand how could he ask for a promise when I didn't even know what was happening.

"Not until you explain to me what is happening." I knew this was not what he would expect from me. I had never asked questions but this time I needed to.  He sighed hearing my reply.

"I can't tell you much but that it involves all of us. If what is needed not done the whole company could crumble down. It is personal but at the same time would ruin our image to nothing but criminals." I was shocked by his words. Criminals? Our whole company falling down. What was he talking about and why didn't Daniel or I knew about it.

"There can't be something this big?" I asked with disbelief.

"It is sadly, and if I could make this problem go away I would have but it's not just possible. It needs to be handled carefully and patiently." He informed making me think all about it and how big this was. something that Mr. Kraven couldn't solve was something that I couldn't believe.

"Can't we have Jeff handle it?" I asked with curiosity in my eyes. Jeff could make people disappear to never to be found. Mr. Kreavne had used him for people that had caused big trouble for us. I knew about it for so long but have kept quiet. all our hands were colored with the blood of others sadly indirectly. He stared at me surprised but then shook his head smiling.

"Dear child don't you think I would have done that if possible," he paused. "It is not that easy. there are a lot of things and the person behind this is very cunning. I have to make it seem like that I'm playing as they want before making my move and striking all of them out." I  heard his plan.

"But why involve Daniel and me in like this?" I asked because nothing made sense for me. Why was there a need for us to do things this way?

"Because that girl is the weak point and I want her to put her faith in Daniel and us. For that, I need full corporation from both of you." His words came out as an order.

"Do you have any idea what kind of problems it would cause for Daniel and me?" I asked in disbelief getting up from the bed and walking towards the window.
