Claire

Was I happy with what was happening?

Not a fucking tad bit but sometimes we have to bear with what was being dished out to us and that was what I was doing. Not a single word was spoken by me in front of Mr. Kraven. It was only Daniel and we were out from the room of the old man and downstairs towards the doors leading out of the house I looked at him.

"Would you like to say something?" I asked because I really couldn't;t be mad at him because it was someone else who was pulling the ropes altogether.

"I'm going to miss you very much." I rolled my eyes at his words.

"What do you expect me to say, Claire. I'm also in deep shit as much as you are in. His secretary almost told me that if I didn't comply with his demands he would probably showing me to the curb and cutting me off." I sighed at his words.

"See I'm not happy what is happening but we have to work this out for the time being until whatever crisis we are in is over with." Crisis? I looked at him wide-eyed.

"I'm pretty sure that there is no crisis at all Daniel. We both have been working our asses off and the company is going hell a lot well. Not even a damn this in hot water. Not even the subsidiaries so it's really hard to believe that we are really in a crisis at all." I wasn't going to back off and while being here I was going to damn get to the bottom of it. Taking step towards me. We were face to face with his breath fanning my cheek.

"It is not the crisis that we are seeing right now but we might be seeing in the future. As I told you I don't have the whole picture but it has everything involved with you and the trip I took to Geneva. All his secretary told me that if this doesn't get sorted we all will be in hot waters and internationally." I couldn't say anything back to him because I could see the distress over his face. It would be of no use to pry anything out to him or cry in front of him. He was almost on the brink of anger and all these years have taught me not to poke the angry man.

"I'm sorry," I apologized not because I meant it because it was better to not let him leave angry or frustrated.

"We will see each other at the office for sure. Maybe together we would be able to find what is it and had it averted as soon as possible. We will surely work this out." I tried to put hope in my words because it was something we both were in a dire need of.

"I hope this gets over with soon," Placing a hand over my neck he pushed his lips on mine. The dire need I felt in his kiss made my legs go week. The way his tongue swirled around in my mouth. My hands laid on his chest and I could hear his frantic heartbeat. I loved this man with my everything and nothing could make me turn away from him ever. He was who had taught me everything in life. He had groomed me into this perfect being for himself that I couldn't ever deny him of anything.

Letting go of me he stepped back putting end to our kiss just keeping me begging for more.

"The bed is going to feel empty tonight without you." I just smiled at his words.

"So would be mine but we would have to get used to it until we get over with whatever it is." The quicker it was the better it was going to be. Nodding I just looked at him, turn around, and walking out of the door leaving me caged in the place that once was my home. Without Daniel, all it felt empty. He had me addicted to him and even with how hard I tried I wouldn't;t get rid of him because he was deep in their mind. I was a slave to his love.

"Ms. Claire, your things will be arriving early morning tomorrow. Mr. Kraven has told me that you would be staying in your room as always." The butler informed me.

"No problem, I surely would fit in my old clothes." I was thankful that I hadn't taken all of my clothes when I had shifted to the city. "What about dinner?" I asked him.

"Mr. Kraven is going to take it in his room and has requested for you to join him." I wanted to laugh at his words. Mr. Kraven never requested his words were like iron. If he requested something it was an order meant to have complied with.

It was going to be a long night or stay.

........................................................................................................................................................

Mr. Kraven sat on his bed cutting into his meat and eating as if nothing has changed. We have exchanged few words and all of them were related to work.

I was the one to initiate to talk and he was the one to shot it down.

In silence, we took our food.

"Tell me, Claire, do you remember your past," he asked out of nowhere making the fork in my hand halt. Keeping the fork down I looked at him, his eyes were on me like a hawk.

"I do remember my past," I had no idea why was he bringing this up now. He was the one who had pulled me out of my past and told me to forget it and welcome the life ahead. Now he wanted me to remember it. Maybe he had truly gone crazy. Rather than saying anything he just stared at me for a while before nodding to me and getting back to his food. I, on the other hand, had lost my will to eat.

Poking around the vegetables I played with my food until he was done with his.

I was waiting just to be excused and lay down. Today hadn't really been the best of the day. I surely wouldn't have thought of ending up here like this.

"Are you going to tell me what is going on?" I asked as the plates in front of us were clear.

"I don't think Daniel had taught you to be impatient. As far as I know, you were a submissive after all waiting for orders from my grandson." His words had me still. I saw something in his eyes that I had never before. It was arrogance. I looked at him as his words echoed in my mind. Shock and surprise were no one near close to what I felt.

The anger grew inside me at his words because he had no right to speak about what happened between me and Daniel but I still sat quiet and composed.

"Did you really think I never knew what was really happening behind closed doors in my own home?" His eyes pierced through me and I just stared at him. "I was the one who had given Daniel the permission to touch you." I felt repulsed by the way he phrased those words. The food I had just half-heartedly was urging to come out.

"Any reason behind you saying all of this?" I asked haughtily, the composed me cracking. He stared at me after my words. Rather than speaking his lips tilted in a smile which was not at all comforting.

"No," his reply was curt and short. "Just jogging our memories so I could remind you where you came from and what your place is." My nails bit into the palm of my hands at his words. It felt as if I was drowned by cold water from his words.

"I would like to sleep now. You can go," he cut me down before I could speak anything. He dismissed me as his nurse came in to take care of him. Standing there I stared at him for a bit too long as the nurse gave him his medications. He had turned into a wicked old man.

Never in the past many years, he had ever said things to me. He had never been like this to me. Gone was the caring man who had taken me under his wing. Now replacing him was someone who I had never known. It was a side I had seen for his enemies.

No word of dislike had ever been uttered by him in the last many years he had brought me here. Getting up I moved towards the door only to have him stopping me.

"Claire," he called making me turn around.

"Not a word about this to Daniel," his words were directed to me but his eyes didn't meet mine.

Updating now.
