I watched Daniel from the balcony, his arm still wrapped possessively around Irene's waist, and it felt like someone had punched me in the gut. It wasn't business, not the way he was smiling at her, laughing with her. She leaned in close, whispering something in his ear, and I could feel the anger rising in my chest, hot and suffocating. How could he do this? How could he act like I didn't even exist?

The stranger behind me shifted, his presence like a dark cloud hanging over my shoulder. I knew he was watching me, waiting. His earlier words still echoed in my head. My heart pounded in my chest, and I felt a desperation that I hadn't expected. I needed to do something, anything, to make Daniel see me to remind him that I was still here, that I was the one who knew him better than anyone.

"I don't think you are ready for what I want," he said.

When I didn't give him an answer right away, the stranger stepped back, as if ready to leave. His cool detachment only fueled my panic, and I realized I was on the verge of losing the one chance I had to get Daniel's attention.

"No," I blurted out, my voice sharper than I intended. "Wait. I agree,"

The man stopped, his back still turned to me, and for a moment, I thought he might walk away anyway, leaving me standing there with my heart pounding in my chest. I couldn't let him leave. Not when I was this close. Not when I needed him.

"Once you agree, there's no turning back."

I swallowed hard, the weight of his words settling over me. My pulse quickened, but I couldn't tear my eyes away from Daniel. He wasn't even looking for me, hadn't even noticed that I was here. The anger swelled again, pushing me forward, pushing me into the arms of the man who offered me the one thing Daniel refused control.

"I'm sure," I whispered, though my voice trembled. I glanced back at the man, meeting his dark, unreadable gaze. "I'll do it."

He arched an eyebrow, his lips curling into that dangerous smirk. "Are you sure?" His tone was dripping with challenge, as though he knew exactly how much power he had over me in that moment.

I hesitated for only a second, then nodded, forcing my voice to sound stronger. "Yes, I'm sure."

His eyes darkened, something shifting behind them that sent a shiver down my spine. He stepped closer, closing the space between us until I could feel the heat radiating off him. "Then let me guide you, princess. Let me show you how it's done."

Before I could respond, his hand slid into mine, and I felt a spark shoot up my arm. My breath caught in my throat, but I didn't pull away. I couldn't.
