Jay's POV:
The day went by and Hank told us we could head off to home. While everyone started to wrap up and head home , I made my way to Hanks office. I knocked on his door kind of nervous. " Come in ", he said with a calm voice. I opened my door and made my way inside , taking the place across from him.
He looked up at me , trying to analyze me. "What is it Halstead ?" ,he asked.
I looked at him , taking a deep breath. " I thought about taking off a week from work. There are things I need to take care off.", I stated calmly.
He gave me a kind of surprised , but also understanding look. " You know I normally don't let someone from my unit just take off time from work"
" I know , but ... it's really important and I promise I'll be back next week" , I replied. " What do you have to do ?", he asked. "I can't talk to you about that rn , but I promise I will tell you when I come back "
Hank nodded , knowing Jay wouldn't tell him now anyways and also knowing him good enough to know that he will keep his promise " Alright. I'll make an exception cause I know that I can trust you Halstead. But don't take advantage of that. It's a one time thing. Got me?"
I nodded. "Thank you Sarge , I really appreciate it".
" Stay Safe alright ?" , he gave me a soft and caring smile. " I will, you too", I smiled back.
He nodded again. Then we said goodbye and I left his office , relieved. I took my jacket and phone from my desk , then made my way outside to my car and drove back home. As I arrived home , I got out my laptop and searched up something.... thinking about it made me smile like an idiot ...
