Drew sat down in front of the large oak tree and pulled out a sandwich from his backpack. Eating outside at lunch was much easier than in the cafeteria. No one ever came outside so it was always quiet. He could eat alone in peace with just nature. But his peaceful lunch was interrupted by the sound of grass rustling behind the tree. Turning left Drew expected to see a rabbit or squirrel in the grass but was startled by a young girl's face inches away from his. "WHAT-" He stumbled backward as the girl calmly moved out from behind the tree.
"There was no need to scream." she said dryly.
Drew grabbed his things next to him as he tried to calm down. How long had she been there? And why is she here now?
"What do you want? Were you not satisfied with burning down a good chunk of the hospital?" His voice shaking.
The girl slightly tilted her head, "Is now a bad time...?"
"Every freaking time you show up is a bad time."
She didn't respond. She stared at him for awhile, causing Drew to become even more tense. She then stood up and turned away from him.
"I will return to talk at a later time. When you can actually listen clearly." And then she was gone.
Drew sat there trying to process what just happened. What the hell was that all about? It sounded like she was going to explain something. He sighed and resumed to his lunch. "Great, now I'll be on edge the rest of the day." He really didn't want to her again.
