"boys listen up the team has been decided" coach nekomata was speaking "so if i saw your name you are going to stand up and go put on one  of those bibs" he said as he was pointing towards the corner where the bibs were lying on a chair

" okay everyone listening, we are going to say the names now, setter is miya atsumu and libero is motoya komori" the boys stood up quickly and rushed over to get their bibs " next up, middle blocker and outside hitter, rintaro suna and kiyoomi sakusa" you looked over to the boys and sent a wink to sakusa who was just happy to see you again " and the last two are, wing spiker wakaoshi ushijima and left wing spiker kotaro bokuto, sorry if you didn't get picked, better luck next time boys"

one by one all the boys had got their bibs on and were now standing on court

"get on court girls, we're using our normal rotation to start off okay" you could tell that your captain was now putting her focus on the game, you all saw this and changed your focus' as well suddenly the atmosphere in the gym had changed and it had become serious and competitive

5 minutes later all the players were on court and the rest of the teams had moved to the stands to be able to watch the match better, the refs were in their places ready to start the game

it was the boys serve first, the ref blew the whistle and signalled for the serve

"nice serve!" came out of the boys mouth, it was ushijimas serve, he just nodded back and threw the ball in the air

homeboy thinks he's slick but i'm slicker

i quickly whispered to sakura " hey, he's going all out on his first serve so be prepared" she just shot me a quick thumbs up and went back to focusing on ushijima

freaking fuck he's fast but lets see how powerful his serve is

the ball was now flying over to our side of the court at an unreal speed but i didn't doubt sakura for one second, and it paid off

"i've got it!!" sakura had successfully received that ball and i could see the shock from the boys sitting in the stands

and as soon as she said the words "himari" i knew that our setter was going to take the first chance she got and try and score a point

then i looked at our right side hitter, yoshiko and winked at her, she knew what it meant

okay the ball is up in the air on its way to himari time to run bitch

as soon as i had given the signal to yoshiko she had then turned to himari and done the same, our team was on the same page

the boys on the opposite side of the net were struggling to figure out who she was going set to and before they knew it me and yoshiko were now running for the ball, but no one called out for it as we got closer to the net i saw that both suna and atsumu had come to block me leaving only bokuto on yoshiko

how stupid  i just smirked at them and before they knew it the ball was slammed down onto the other side of the court by yoshiko

i ran up to her to give her a double highfive and then ran back to my position, now the rotation had moved so i was now opposite sakusa

"heyyy bestie, fancy seeing you here?" i smiled, a genuine smile

" yes (y/n) fancy seeing you here, i'm actually glad that you're here because i actually missed you" sakusa smiled back but then carried on " but you better be prepared because i am going to beat your cute ass" he just smirked at me and i smirked back

" game on bestie"  we were now just having a staring competition

there is no way i'm loosing this staring contest with him so without breaking eye contact with him i shouted " nice serve himari!!"

i could feel a dark aura coming off of someone close to me but i didn't bother looking, not wanting to break the staring contest i was having with sakusa

-- suna pov --

as their setter was about to set the ball both (y/n) and the other girl ran for the ball, i really was clueless at that point so i went with sakusa to help him block (y/n), we both jumped at the same time she did

but we didn't see a ball going to her hands

"Shit" i muttered under my breath, she had lead us to her side of the court but she was only a decoy

by the time we reached our highest point in our jump both me and sakusa had realised that we fell into her trap, when i looked ahead i was directly greeted by a smirk she had on her lips

i can't believe i fell for that

once the point had been scored we rotated back into our positions, now (y/n) was up front, this was going to be harder than i thought, we thought we would have a height advantage on them but after seeing them up-close none of them were short, yes they were shorter than us, but not by a lot

i was broken out of my thoughts when i heard a giggle, was that (y/n)

that was so cute

wait wtf am i thinking

i turned slightly to the side to see exactly why she was giggling only to see that she was opposite sakusa, they know each other?

they carried on talking but what caught my attention the most was when sakusa spoke

"because i actually missed you" and he smiled aswell ?!?

how did he know (y/n)?     

were they a thing?     

do her brothers know???   

he better be treating her right

i don't know what this feeling was but all of a sudden i got really, idk how to explain it, annoyed?

no what are you thinking, why are you paying so much attention to her

i didn't even realise but when (y/n) shouted " nice serve himari!!" i didn't even have to turn to face her because i was staring directly at her

i stopped myself and turned away, repeating these words over and over again

she means nothing to you, push her away and don't let her get close

the ref blew the whistle and i just put on a straight face but in the inside i knew that i had to figure out how to keep my distance

how to not fall for her

i just need to know

but i don't want to hurt her

but i have a feeling that i've already been hurting her
