Chapter 2

CHAPTER 2

Alli's POV

        As we walked behind Chris, I could see Sabrina's gears running, trying to figure out who put us here. I had an idea who could've put us here, but it was only because I was half asleep when he kidnapped me. He sounded familiar, but I couldn't place my finger on that voice...

        "Everyone!" Chris called out to all of us, "Try to look for somewhere that could possibly be a shelter!" Everyone started glancing around looking for THAT shelter.

        "Wait...." Sabrina said interrupting everyone's search, "Didn't he say 17 people? I counted all of us already... and we only have 9 people, not 17."

        Arrianna then asked in fearful voice, " Are you sure about that?"

        "Yeah..."

        "So... that mean... they could be people that would be out to kill us... because they don't know us."

        Then Mary said in a dark voice, "There wouldn't be any regrets in that for them..."

        Everyone looked at each other worried... Personally... I don't want any of them dead but I wouldn't especially care about those two girls that claimed to be Sabrina's friends.

        Hours passed by with the atmosphere tense. Quick fleeting glances to make sure there was no one nearby. But would we kill them? Are we capable of killing? We're all 13 years old for godsake! None of has ever even hunted! We also have 9 people to keep alive!

        "Hey Chris! Is it possible that apples are poisonous?" Annie yells out pointing toward a what could be an apple grove.

        "Why would apples be poisonous?" Chris says turning toward the direction of the apple grove.

        May then said excitedly, "I think Annie found us food!"

        After those words registered into our minds, we all started heading toward the grove. We were starving. Every single one of us never missed a meal in our life and I don't think we're going to start now.

        Then I looked behind...

        "Guys! What are you doing! You can't just trust that!" Sabrina yelled out with Carrie next to her.

        Carrie then added, "GUYS! THINK HUNGER GAMES!" Maybe they have the right idea... Because this situation is very similar to Hunger Games. It could be gentically modified to be poisonous.

        "Oh come on! It's food! We're all starving!" May yelled out after biting the apple, "We haven't dropped dead yet!"

        After Sabrina saw that May bit out of the apple, she then plopped onto the ground and said calmly, " Then we'll wait. If May isn't dead by tomorrow then it's safe to eat for the rest of us."

        "What do you mean? I'm not a test experiment!"

        "The minute you bit that apple, you became a test experiment."

        "But what about our stomach?" Katie asked.

        "I'm pretty sure we all ate before coming here. You guys will survive." Sabrina then sat and motioned for Mary and Arrianna to sit with her, "Anyone wants to play truth or dare?" Then Chris, Annie, Carrie, Katie, and I walked toward the small circle that was created before and sat down.

        "So what exactly are the rules?" I asked, "I mean, we can't really just dare others to die...."

        "There you go... there's one rule," Annie commented, she then smiled at the ridiculous of the situation.

        "I guess that's all the rules we need," Katie said uncertainly.

        "I wanna go first!" Chris reached out his hands toward the center trying to get our attention.

        Sabrina laid back against the tree behind her and affirmed, " Go ahead."

        Chris turned toward me, " Truth or Dare."

        It went on like that for the whole day. May didn't drop dead. Danielle is at her side saying that she won't die. The rest of us playing truth or dare.

        After a very funny dare, which included Chris doing something completely ridiculous, people started yawning.

        "I don't know about you guys, but I'm tired," Carrie said as she turned toward a shaded spot.

        I looked toward the trees and decided it was best to get to sleep. I walked toward another shaded spot and started making a make-shift bed using the long grass that grew by the trees. After piling the long grass ontop of each other. I layed down and curled up in the surprisingly comfortable grass pile.

        As I started to doze off I could hear angry voices, but I didn't care. My mind was demanding for sleep and I was listening to it.
