Chapter 3

CHAPTER 3

May's POV

        God dammit! WHY DIDN'T I THINK ANY OF THAT THROUGH. We're in an arena that looks like the Hunger Games! Then I accidently bite an apple that may or may not be poisonous. Why couldn't we be in a place where rainbows and unicorns live?

        I shook myself out of those thoughts and looked around... Everyone was sleeping. I couldn't sleep because the chance of death lingering over my head is still bothering me. I looked to my left and found that Danielle was sleeping. I'm glad to have a best friend like her. She was always by my side no matter what and we met each other when we were very young.

        After all the looking around and thinking, I decided that I should take a walk around the grove to clear my head.

        I stumbled as I attempted to get up. My legs wobbled from the lack of movement.

        Come on May! You can do it!

        I tried once more by pushing myself off the grounds with my hands instead. As I finally stood up, I noticed rustling somewhere towards my right. Probably just a rabbit or something. I walked toward the trees that were carved with an arrow to make sure I wouldn't get lost.

        Shwwhwshhwhwhsh. There it was the rustling again... I turned around to run but before I turned away completely, in the corner of my eyes I saw a person. I turned around again, but this time facing towards the person I saw a few seconds ago.

        "Who are you?" a boy with sharpish facial feature, and a tannish skin asked. By his side there was two other boys who were a lot taller than him observing me.

        "It's a girl... I thought there wasn't any in here. I thought there was only boys," the boy with the darker skin discovered apparently.

        "Is there any other girls here?" the other tall boy with a pale complexion asked.

        I opened my mouth to speak but no sound came out due to the fact that I was scared, scared of being killed brutally..

        "It's alright. We won't kill anyone... but I might kill Tark here to eat," the darker skin one said jokingly. I chuckled despite the fact that I still didn't trust them. The boy with the tannish skin, whose apparently named Tark, pushed the boy a little with an upset face.

        "Please! Shuddup!" Tark pleaded.

        "Hey I'm Will! Don't listen to those idiots over there," the boy with the pale skin introduced. He held his hand out for a handshake and gave me a warm smile.

        I took his handshake and then introduced myself, "Hi... I'm May... and if you try killing me in any way... You'll Regret It... Because I'll be back from the dead and will kill you." I said the last part with all the confidence I could muster.

        Will chuckled and replied teasingly, "I don't doubt it."

        The boy that I still didn't know his name yet then asked curiously, " Are you the only one here?" I nodded. After seeing me shake my head, the boy asked, "Can you take us to them... because we believe we should all stick together and not kill anyone... Except maybe Tark there..."

        "Hey! Stop picking on me! Go and pick on Will or something, Kaleb!" Tark complained as he pointed towards Will's direction. So that's what the boy's name is... Kaleb...

        "So.... Kaleb? Are you sure I can trust you guys?" I asked slowly, emphasizing every word of the last part.

        Kaleb nodded and so did Will and Tark. That's all the confirmation I needed even though a little bit of me didn't trust them in any way.

        How do we know we're not going to be murdered by them? They did say they won't murder any of us and it seems that everyone did know each other in a way. Especially Sabrina.... She knew those two girls that we didn't know in any way... By we, I mean Alli, Carrie, Katie, Chris, and Danielle. Everything that happened so far seemed strange.

        I motioned my hands for them to follow me and when I'm sure they understood what I was saying in hands language (YES, I ,MAY FRELLIA, CALLS IT THE HANDS LANGUAGE), I started walking toward the grove with the arrows leading the way. 

        As we were heading closer to the grove, the sun was starting to rise.

        "Woah! Guys, we've been here for the whole entire day!" Kaleb exclaimed after seeing light appear.

        Everyone was silent and lost in their own thoughts.... Wait! I'm still ALIVE! I forgot all about me biting that could be poisonous apple because of my encounter with those three guys. I'm ALIVE.

        I pumped my fists up in the air and started jumping around as I chanted, "I'm alive, I'm alive, I'm alive!" over and over again.

        I then heard a whisper from the Kaleb person as he leaned toward Will," Do you think she went koo koo?" He twirled his fingers next to his temple signifying the koo koo sign.

        "HEY! I AM NOT CRAZY IN ANY WAY!" I shouted in anger... "Okay maybe a little bit." I admitted as I saw the three boys give me the I-don't-believe-you look. The I stomped away toward the grove and grumbled, "Here we are. My other friends."

        "Wait a second..." Tark said quickly. He then pointed toward Sabrina, "Isn't that Sabrina?"

        Will walked closer and squinted... "I think that is!" he confirmed excitedly.

        What? How in the world do they know her? What!?!?!
