"The fuck?" The gun flew out of James hand and into the grey sand below. He wizzed around to see wasp standing there, with their pistol in hand. The gun James was holding had a bullet shaped dent in the side of it and the ticket to hell had fallen out and rolled into the grey water that lapped against the seashore. "Just, don't" wasp said calmly.
James stared at them in disbelief, they had both saved his life and killed his lover in the space of no more than half an hour. James pulled out the old knife and lunged forward at wasp, easily overpowering them and toppling them to the ground.
"GIVE ME ONE REASON WHY I SHOULDN'T KILL YOU RIGHT NOW" James shouted in their face with tears in his eyes and Ryans blood still wet on his hands. The old knife pressed further into Wasps neck but not a drop of blood came out and no pain seemed to be inflicted on them. Wasp looked directly at James, the tears still streamed down his face as he pressed the knife deeper. "Because if you kill me," wasp said, their voice shaking slightly, "they will just send more and more, until we're all dead, it doesn't matter your choice but you either keep me alive and save yourself or get revenge and kill us all"
James threw the knife and punched Wasp in the face, their metallic skeleton deflected the blow and James clutched his fist in pain. "We're getting to Ireland then if I ever see your face again I swear I'll kill you." James said, he turned away and put his hands on his head. The ocean seemed calmer now, like it was holding a silence for his fallen lover. The waves slowly creeped up the beach as the tide rose and fell in a rythmic motion. Eventually James turned away from the sea and carried on along the road once again, Wasp followed at a careful distance, making sure to not get too close to James.
Wasp pranced along, quietly as usual, being sure to keep their distance. James walked Infront in silence, not even a tear rolled down his face, he just felt empty. He kicked a rock which bounced down the old road then rolled into a ditch by the side of it. He took a heavy sigh and quickened his pace, they needed to get to the docks then James would bring the mysterious box to Kayla then he didn't know what he'd do with his life, or lack there of.
"Hey um-" wasp said quietly after a few moments of silence. James turned around with haste and stopped dead in his tracks. "Don't you fucking speak or I'll melt you down for parts" he turned around and muttered to himself, "bloody synth". Wasp looked shocked but at the same time had already calculated the outcome. The pair carried on walking and for once wasp wished they felt emotions the same way every other human did.
All they had to do was get to the docks, get on a boat and this shit storm would all be over. The pair would go their separate ways and figure out what happens next.
