You could barely sleep that night.
It was no easy task when questions, thoughts, and the desire of remembering things wouldn't stop running inside your mind. Every time you closed your eyes, a new doubt would pop up in your brain... along with Alexander's words.
You couldn't get out of your head anything of what you heard him say the night before; the love and pain in his words.
You wished you could make it easier for him as well.

The next morning you woke up early, changed your clothes and walked downstairs; ready for a new day.
The silence in your house made you think that Alexander was either still sleeping, or gone; however, you realized that none of the previous options were correct as soon as you entered the kitchen.
Alexander stood there, his lower back against the counter as he leaned on it, with his characteristic half smile and crossed arms over his chest.
That image made you feel something, like it kind of rang a bell to you, making your mouth fall open and your heart skipped a beat. You felt as if your brain was really trying to make you remember about something that was hidden deep inside of it.
"Good morning." -He said after a while, his voice low.
"Hey." -You smiled at him. -"Uh— Can I ask you something?"
"Sure. What is it?" -He inquired, taking a step forward.
"Did you use to do that often, by any chance?"
Alexander tilted his head slightly. -"Do what exactly?"
"You know... That." -You pointed at him. -"Wait for me here... like that."
His smile grew bigger and nodded. -"Everytime."
"So that's why it felt so familiar." -You giggled. -"You slept good?"
"Yeah, Odin has been with me all the time." -He chuckled. -"He owned more than half of the settee, though."
"Oh, I'm sorry about that, I'm guessing it was pretty uncomfortable for you to sleep there, then."
Alexander shook his head.
"That's nonsense. It was alright as long as I knew you were okay." -He smiled genuinely, making you blush. -"But how did you sleep, though? You look kind of tired."
"I didn't really sleep, you know... Too many things in my mind." -You sat down in a chair, while Alexander grabbed a mug and filled it with coffee. -"Ironic, right?"
"I understand. I'm guessing you have a lot of questions right now." -He said, placing the drink in front of you. -"Don't you?"
"Yeah." -You whispered, placing your hands around the warm mug.
Alexander looked at you for a few seconds, as if he was trying to figure out what to say. Then, he sat down in front of you.
"Look, I don't want to force you to talk about it if you aren't ready yet." -He said. -"But you can ask me anything you want, really."
"Are you sure?" -You looked at him, your eyebrows slightly raised.
"Of course." -He sat more comfortably in his chair, both his elbows on the table, leaning forward. -"I want to help you."
"Well, then..."- You scanned his big, brown eyes for a second before talking again. -"I'm wondering... How did we meet?"
Alexander visibly gulped at the question. Then, his lips parted and a little noise escaped his mouth, as he tried to find the words. You cocked an eyebrow, waiting for an answer.
