7 months later...

"Alexander!" -You yelled, your hands flying to your enormous belly.

Soon you heard Alexander's footsteps running up the stairs, and he was standing in front of you in the blink of an eye. His eyes were wide open, and he was breathing heavily.

"What's wrong? Are you okay!?" -He asked worriedly. His gaze then fell to your legs, and his sharp jaw dropped to the floor. -"(Y/n)? Did- Did you just—"

The past few months passed quickly. It had been a difficult time for you, for sure, but at the same time it allowed you two to grow even closer, if that was possible. Daniel was still at home, but that didn't change the fact that Alexander and you were inseparable — from the most heart-warming moments like watching him tell your son what he had been doing during the day while running his finger over your belly, to the awful ones like your back's pain or the nausea.

But you knew all that was over once you felt contractions and your thighs wet.

"I just broke waters." -You confirmed, groaning in discomfort.

Alexander nodded, wrapping his head around the fact that the day had come. Panic and nerves were visible in his features, though, and he took a deep breath trying to calm himself down. Then, he said:

"Let me get everything we need and- and we will leave to the hospital, okay?"

Not even waiting for your answer, Alexander ran to the guest room and looked for the bags you both prepared for that day. You could hear him drop stuff and curse, his shaky hands probably betraying him.

Alexander didn't know how to drive, and you couldn't do it due to the state you were in, so Daniel didn't hesitate and offered you a ride — and it didn't take them more than just 5 minutes to be ready.

You were sitting in the back of the vehicle with Alexander. Your head was thrown back and your eyes closed tightly. You complained about the pain, but tried your best to take control of your breathing.

Daniel's eyes were focused on the highway, but every now and then, he would check on you to make sure you were alright. Alexander rested one of his slender hands over your belly carefully, while the other one combed your hair back with his fingers.

"This hurts so bad, I hate it." -You said with gritted teeth, making him gulp.

"I know, darling, but remember that you will have our son in your arms soon, and you've got me, okay?" -He encouraged you, and you tried to give him a smile. -"You can do this."

"I love you, Alexander."

"And I love you more." -He stated before kissing the side of your temple.

After what felt like an eternity, Daniel dropped you two at the hospital's entrance first, and while you went inside the building, your brother parked the car.

You were in one of the cold hospital's rooms, laying down in an uncomfortable bed until you dilated enough. You only hoped you didn't have to wait much longer; the waiting was unbearable.

Alexander was sitting on a green, plastic chair next to you — he had his hand wrapped around yours, and you could feel his thumb caressing the top of your hand. You smiled at the sight of it, and then raised your gaze to his eyes.

"How are you feeling, my dear?" -He inquired softly.

You sighed. -"I'm a bit better now, but it still hurts."
