Alexander's POV.

That's it...

She said it.

She fucking said it.

I heard those words that I had been yearning to hear since the very first time we talked about her soul.

She asked for that thing I thought nobody would ever want, for I believed my presence was just meaningless. I was at a loss of words just thinking about having someone needing me so bad, and the truth was that the feeling was mutual.

But even though I was on cloud nine after her request, (and quite literally), I needed to make sure she was certain about such a huge decision. It was a serious matter, and I didn't want her to regret it in the future... That would definitely kill me.

"(Y/n)" -I stuttered. -"Are you completely sure about that?"

"Are you asking me if I'm sure?" -She inquired on the verge of crying again. -"Alexander, I love you, I can't see you die right before my eyes, I can't lose you!"

"But— But you can ask for literally anything." -I told her. -"Isn't there anything you need more than this?"

"There's only one thing I want." -She cupped my face in her soft hands. I couldn't help it but close my eyes at her touch. -"And that's you, nothing else."

For a split second I forgot where I was and who was next to me. Suddenly it was just us, together. No one else.

I placed my hands on her cheeks without hesitation and brought her face close to mine, kissing her deeply. I couldn't resist one more second without feeling her close to me, and I wouldn't let that happen.

She wrapped her arms around my neck, pulling me as close as she could. My hands then travelled down from her face to her waist, resting them there. That was something I never thought I would need: affection, love, someone to spend my time with... And yet there I was, craving it all. Life does change, doesn't it?

Eventually, we heard someone clearing his throat behind us, making us pull away. (Y/n)'s face was adorably flushed, but when I turned around, I noticed my brother's cheeks slightly pink as well while he looked to the side. I chuckled.

Then, I looked at God.

"God," -I began. -"Is there anything that would prevent her request?"

I was more than ready to hear him say yes. I was expecting him to come up with another stupid rule that would make us regret getting our hopes up so soon, but then he smiled and shook his head.

It was a genuine smile that reached his eyes, showing his teeth as well. I tilted my head in confusion.

"No, Alexander. If that is what she really wants in exchange for her soul, you must give it to her. That was the deal, right?"

I nodded in disbelief now, not quite understanding how all of this ended so quickly and better than we thought. So much drama for nothing?

"But I am free?" -I questioned. -"Just like that?"

"Yes, you are." -God affirmed.

I sighed feeling relieved, and hugged (y/n) again, hearing her chuckle between my arms.

"However," -God continued. -"You know that she is still a mortal."

"So what?" -I frowned, not understanding his point.
