3rd Person P.O.V.

Staring out the window, Eddie let out a small sigh. When he had arrived at school,  a small drizzle had fallen from the sky. Now that the school day was almost over, it was pouring.

"Alright everyone! Class is dismissed. Have a good day."

When those words were spoken, the students in the room began to pack up their belongings and head out. Eddie had taken his time while putting his things away in his backpack; he dreaded going out in the cold, harsh rain.

When Eddie had walked out to the school's exit, a boy was awaiting his arrival. The boy was none other than his best friend, (Y/n).

(Y/n)'s face had an expression of joy as he stared outside at the rainy terrain. In fact, the boy's favorite weather was rain; Eddie remembered that vividly.

Hearing the sound of footsteps, (Y/n) turned his head to look at Eddie. "Eddie! There you are! I was waiting forever, slowpoke!" (Y/n) whined as he rushed over to his ginger friend. (Y/n) tackled the gravekeeper into a hug that nearly caused them both to stumble over.

"(Y/n)! Be careful!" Eddie laughed as he hugged his friend back. (Y/n) mumbled a quick apology, backing away from Eddie.

"Let's go home!"

(Y/n) and Eddie were neighbors, so they walked home together everyday. Since (Y/n) hadn't brought an umbrella today, the two boys shared Eddie's umbrella.

Eddie's umbrella was one from when he was small since his parents had never bought him a new one. It was a green umbrella with a frog design on it, a patch of duct tape upon its surface to repair a small tear.

Despite being over five years old, the small tear was the only damage on the umbrella. The umbrella seemed a bit childish for Eddie, embarrassing him. On the other hand, (Y/n) claimed that the umbrella was super cool and insisted that his friend shouldn't be ashamed; that alone was enough to make Eddie feel better.

The two boys had only reached about a quarter of the distance back to their homes when the rain had gotten heavier. The small frog umbrella was barely enough to keep both of them dry as they continued to travel back home.

"Ugh, this dumb umbrella is barely fitting us under it..." Eddie mumbled in disappointment. The main factor of his disappointment was the fact that his parents wouldn't get him a new umbrella, but the harsh rain fuelled that feeling further.

"It's okay Eddie! It's made to only cover one person, so I'll be fine!" (Y/n) shouted, running out from under the umbrella and into the rain.

"(Y/n)! You'll get sick!" Eddie cried out in concern. The ginger was about to chase his friend and force him under the umbrella, but the sight before him stopped him.

(Y/n) was dancing around in the rain, a blissful laugher escaping from his throat. His wet (h/c) hair stuck to his face and his soaked clothes stuck to his skin, but nevertheless, the boy was joyful.

The smile present on (Y/n)'s face made Eddie's chest feel warm and fuzzy. The laugher ringing through the air was like music to Eddie's ears. Despite the cold, Eddie could feel his cheeks warming up. He was curious as to what this feeling was; it was so warm and tingly and made him want to laugh in joy.

Eddie hadn't even noticed that he had dropped the umbrella, his hand now clutching his shirt. The umbrella was on the concrete beside him as it collecting water from the rain.

"Eddie! Come dance!" (Y/n) exclaimed. He ran over to Eddie and grabbed his hands, spinning him around in the rain. "Doesn't dancing in the rain make you so happy?"

"Y-Yeah!" Eddie responded with a laugh following after. Was it the rain making him so happy? He had never felt this tingly feeling before, but could it just he him feeling sick or was it something more?

It seemed sudden when the rain slowly began to clear up. The pouring turned into a light drizzle, the droplets soon dropping slowly from the sky compared to the harsh rain before.

Eddie could feel (Y/n)'s hands shaking in his own. Eddie hadn't even realized that the both of them were shaking from the cold breeze against their cold, soaked bodies.

"I-I guess we should probably get home now, h-huh?" (Y/n) stuttered with a laugh.

Eddie nodded, the tingly feeling still lingering in his chest. Ignoring it, Eddie turned to grab his umbrella only to see that it had now broke due to the harsh wind and the water collecting inside of it.

"Oh no!" the ginger exclaimed as he grabbed the now broken umbrella. (Y/n) let out a small gasp.

"S-Sorry Eddie...it probably would have been better if I had just stayed under the umbrella, huh?" (Y/n) muttered.

"N-No! It's okay!" Eddie paused for a moment, "I had fun dancing in the rain with you."

(Y/n)'s small frown turned into a goofy grin. "Really?? I'm glad! It was fun, wasn't it? We should dance in the rain more often!" After his exclamation, (Y/n) sneezed.

"A-Ah! Are you getting sick?! We gotta get you home!" Eddie grabbed (Y/n)'s hand and started to rush his friend home.

Staring down at their intertwined hands as the ran, (Y/n) couldn't help but smile. The fuzzy feeling in his chest also had gotten stronger.

After a short while, the boys had arrived at their neighboring houses. "(Y/n)! Go inside, I don't want you to get anymore sick!" Eddie shouted in worry.

(Y/n) giggled. "I will! Thanks Eddie! I would hug you, but I think it would make the cold worse hehe...I'll see you at school tomorrow!"

The friends had said their goodbyes before going inside, each being scolded by their parents for coming home soaked.

Despite the cold weather outside, the boys shared a mutual feeling of warmth known as love.
