"Sakura... What are you doing here?"
Sasuke asked Sakura shakily, trying to stand up.

I crossed my arms.
How rude. He didn't even notice me.

Jokes aside, I was scared.
I knew I had to do something. Naruto wouldn't be able to handle Gaara on his own.
But I didn't want to hurt Gaara at all.

"Sasuke, hold on,"
Sakura said as Sasuke started to wince in pain.

"Hey, uh, Sakura,"
Naruto started.

"Earth to Sakura,"
he continued as she didn't respond.

"What do you want?"
she growled.

"This guy over here. Who the hell is he?"
Naruto asked, glancing back at us.

"That's Gaara,"
I stated. Pakkun nodded.

Naruto seemed surprised at that.

Pakkun and Sakura talked to each other and Sasuke tried to get back up.

"Hey, calm down. Take it easy.
You weren't supposed to go-"

"shut up,"
he cut me off with a sigh, trying to get up.

I kept my mouth shut after that, but I quickly started again.
"We need to get you out of here, come on,"
I said, but Sasuke didn't move.

"It's you. You're the one I didn't kill that day,"
Gaara stated.

Naruto started shaking.
"We have to go,"
I urged.

"Guys, get up! We have to go now!"
Naruto then yelled, turning back to us which was a big mistake.

Gaara went at Sasuke once again.
Both Sakura and I were able to get in front of him, no matter how much Naruto protested.

We stood our ground.
I rummaged through my pouch, taking out a kunai even though I knew that wouldn't be enough.

I saw Gaara hesitate, but he didn't stop.
"Move it!"
he yelled and Sakura was pinned against the tree.

"Sakura!!"
I shouted, calling myself an idiot for not protecting her.

Gaara winced in pain and Naruto took that as a chance to grab me.
Luckily, I had Sasuke in my arms so he wasn't left behind.

"Are you okay?"
Naruto asked me, his voice rushed.

"I'm fine. Are you??"
I asked, already noticing all of the dust on him.

He nodded, then searched for Sakura, his eyes wide once he noticed she was unconscious.

"Damn it... What are we to do now? We're screwed,"
he muttered.

Gaara soon groaned in pain, holding his head.
"What's the matter? Aren't you going to make a run for it?"
he asked us.

"Sasuke... Naruto.. Y/n,"
Sakura muttered.

I stood my ground.

"Who are these two? Who are they to you?"
Gaara asked.

"Who are they to me?"
Naruto repeated.
"They're my friends, is who they are! You try laying so much as another finger on them and I will pulverize you,"
Naruto threatened.
