Reader's POV

I was useless. I knew that as soon as I woke up flying through the air in someone's arms.
I woke myself up fast, biting my tongue as hard as I could to regain my senses.

I glanced up.
"Kankuro!" I exclaimed. I wasn't sure if I should've felt relieved or upset. 

"What is going on?!"
I shouted. Upset, was the path chosen.

He grit his teeth, not answering me.
I looked to my side, seeing Gaara unconscious.

I winced. "What happened?" I murmured.
"We're on the run, okay? Just stay calm and quiet," Kankuro said.
And I did, despite how panicked I was.

Soon, Kankuro came to a stop.
Sasuke appeared on the tree in front of us and my eyes widened.
"You through with running away?"
he asked with a smirk.

"Who says I was running?"
asked Kankuro, out of breath.
"I'll take you on. No problem."

"wait!"
Temari shouted as she jumped down to us.

I was relieved now, seeing she was okay.
But I still had no idea what was going on.

"Temari! When he showed up and you didn't, I thought he must have finished you,"
Kankuro said, also relieved.

"he could have. And why he didn't, I don't know,"
she stated, glancing at me. Her cold look softened, but she only nodded.

"I guess I didn't delay him for long, did I?"
she said.

"It's okay. Every second gives Gaara more time to recover.
And the more Chakra Uchiha is forced to use up, the better for us,"
Kankuro stated.

"What is going on?"
I grumbled under my breath.

Well, clearly, Sasuke was trying to get something from the trio.
They needed Gaara to recover. But- it was all so confusing.

I slumped in Kankuro's arms, wishing for a simple explaination.

"I've got this, Kankuro! Get Gaara and Y/n out of here,"
Temari said. Gaara and I were both too weak to fight, well Gaara was unconscious and I was just weak. "Go on."

Kankuro lurched forward.
I wasn't even in his arms anymore, along with Gaara so that made me even more confused.

"Temari, you take Gaara and go ahead,"
he said. "You're all worn out. Look at yourself. Go on, you'll only get in my way,"
he said and I knew he was smirking.

"Wait a second-"
Temari started.

"Get moving!"
he shouted.

Temari glanced at Gaara uneasily, but she picked him up.
She turned to me and I nodded. Although i had no idea what was happening, I knew I'd be safer with her than Sasuke or Kankuro.
