Itachi called out.

I was shaking, each step he took closer, I wanted to run away.

Sasuke was unconscious.
He couldn't help me.

He sighed, kneeling down.
"Don't go home tonight, you'll regret it," he said. "Goodbye." He ruffled my hair. He was gone.

I sat there in shock, I couldn't let myself cry yet. I rushed over to Sasuke, picking him up. I ran and ran.

"Help! Sasuke's hurt!"
I shouted as I ran, tears welling up in my eyes.

I almost collapsed, my legs sore and my head banging.
I glanced at Sasuke, then I kept going.

I made it to the hospital until I finally collapsed.

"Come on, anyone?" I muttered.

That night, I was so lucky to get any kind of help. I couldn't speak, it hurt so much to say what happened.

I never went back home that night. I listened to Itachi's warning and I didn't even know why.

I left at dusk, heading out before any of the nurses could catch me. I needed to get home. Mother was probably worried sick.

Well, she wasn't worried at all cuz she was actually dying.

I found the homes, bodies of my clan in flames.
After everything that happened last night, I knew I should've expected it.

This couldn't have been Itachi too... right? No, it couldn't be.

I kneeled down a few, shaking them desperately.

"Wake up!" I cried, desperate. "For me.. wake up," I choked out. Mother...

I ran in hopes to find my parents. I had no siblings.

"Mama!!! Are you okay?"
I was out of breath when I made it to the door.

"Foolish child. Now I've got you," she said softly, from behind me.

She was on the ground, her body severely burned.

"Mama! We've got to go!"
I shouted, I was panicking. My brain wouldn't stop. It consumed everything.

I was ready to help her up, do something, anything. Just do something.. don't be useless.

"I never wanted this.." she sighed out, blood dripping her forehead.

"Lets go- we have to go," I urged, grabbing her hand.

"Wheres Papa? He can help-"

"I never wanted you.. I never wanted a child. But no.. for humanity! You've got to save them all, save them," she rambled, tears rolling down her cheeks.

"And even now, I can't see how you can save the world... how foolish," she said.
I didn't let everything sit, trying to get her up.

"Stupid, stupid.. I've been so mean to you, pushing you, hating you. and you're still trying to save me?" she asked, her eyes closing slightly.
"I never wanted this.. I just wanted- I wanted a long, fulfilling life. No no, you'll never get that. Just have a kid that'll save the world while you disappear. Young, loveless.." she scoffed, talking to herself in such a harsh tone.
