Vesta and I stayed away from the battle for a while.
Two of the strongest demons wouldn't be something wise to get in the middle of

Finally, Naruto had been able to wake Gaara up, taking Shukaku away.
Unfortunately, Gaara still had some fight left in him. Vesta didn't seem to like Kurama being away, because she was quite stubborn after.

"We need to go! Now! Gaara is going to kill him!"
I shouted. She growled. Soon, she ran towards them.

"Naruto! Are you okay?"
I shouted as we got to him.

"Yeah! I uh, think!"
well, that was a lie. Gaara was mad and he was trying to put Naruto in a sand coffin.

"Gaara!! Stop this!"
I shouted, making sure to not step near his sand.

He looked up, glaring at me.
If I could talk to him, distract him, then maybe I could also get Naruto out without him seeing.

"Don't you remember when we met? It was a really really sunny day and my mom let me go to the park. That's where you were at. We were swinging together, then we started talking to each other. We were friends! We still are! Friends don't hurt each other,"
I said in hopes to calm him.

"Then you left,"
he stated, my smile faded.

"We're together again. It can be like that again!"
I said, forcing a smile.

He grit his teeth, but I could tell some of it got through to him.
He shook his head, my smile faltered. 

"Believe me. I will kill you. That doesn't matter anymore.
I will not cease to exist," he scowled.

I grit my teeth.
"Naruto, I've got you,"
I said.

"no!"
he shouted before I could move. "You'll get stuck as well, that would end all of this. I can do this," he said.

I nodded and he gathered more chakra. I was surprised he even had any left.

"Stand back Y/n. I want you to be okay,"
he said with a smile. I hesitantly nodded, stepping away.

"Get ready, you crazy monster!"
"Die!"

Naruto jumped at him, only to be caught in sand.

"I... I've had it with you!!"
he shouted, moving and headbutting Gaara.

And then, the sand around them crumbled. Shukaku crumbled.
Was it... Was it finally over?

I couldn't smile just yet, I knew I couldn't. Not until they were both okay.

I searched for Naruto and Gaara through the sand.
I found them on separate trees.

I sighed in relief, seeing they were both okay but out of chakra. I quickly used Shadow Paralysis on Gaara, holding him in place.

Vesta and Gamabunta had to go unfortunately
I didn't hear most of Naruto and Gaara's conversation, but I knew Naruto was being serious.

Once they were done, Gaara ended up getting out of the paralysis quite quickly.
I blamed it on my exhaustion. My back hurt like hell, having endured so many trees.
