four : switching sides

THE TRIPLETS WATCHED AS ULTRON'S BODY WAS BEING MADE FROM THE VIBRANIUM AND HUMAN TISSUE MAKER. Elaine could feel the high amount of energy coming from the body being made. Her powers were back to normal, but her mind was still set to one thing.

She was going to kill Tony Stark, and Clint Barton.

Helen Cho was under the control of Ultron because of Loki's scepter, but that also made her chatty. "Cellular cohesion will take a few hours, but we can initiate the conscious stream." Helen finished plugging in the wires to the back of Ultron as she made her way back to the body being made. "We're uploading your cerebral matrix now."

"I can read him." Wanda curiously stated as she stepped towards the body. "He is... dreaming."

"I wouldn't call it dreams. It's Ultron's base consciousness." Helen corrected. "Informational noise. Soon—"

"How soon?" Ultron interrupted. "I'm not being pushy."

As Helen replied, Elaine and Wanda stepped in front of the box containing the body. "We're imprinting a physical brain. There are no shortcuts. Even if your magic gem..."

Helen's voice drained out as suddenly Elaine was with Wanda as they read the body's mind. Elaine didn't realize she was touching Wanda until they both saw something strike Earth, destroying it.

Both women cried out in pain as their eyes screwed shut, backing away. Elaine was in the most pain, the vision still flashing in her head like she was at a rock concert. It was as if the vision was playing to her like a movie, but on repeat. When she finally felt the pain dull, she saw Pietro in front of her with worried eyes, cupping the side of her face and trying to comfort her.

Ultron was going to destroy the world.

Wanda turned to look at Ultron who was now standing. "How could you?"

"How could I what?" Ultron asked, although he knew very well what Wanda was implying.

"You said we would destroy the Avengers, make a better world." Wanda stated as Elaine let Pietro's hands fall.

"It will be better." Ultron told her.

"When everyone is dead?" Elaine questioned, controlling her breathing.

Ultron was getting impatient. "That is not—" He stopped himself from shouting and calmly continued. "The human race will have every opportunity to improve." Now, Pietro was turned to look at Ultron with slightly wide eyes.

"And if they don't?" Pietro asked.

"Ask Noah." Ultron said.

Elaine had small, almost transparent streams of mascara running down her face from the tears. "You are madman."

"There were more than a dozen extinction-level events before even the dinosaurs got theirs." Ultron said. The triplets knew they had picked the wrong side. "When the Earth starts to settle, God throws a stone at it. And, believe me, he's winding up. We have to evolve. There's no room," Ultron ran his cold, metal hands over the box holding his new body. "for the weak."
