twenty one : blue blood
THE FIGHTING SEEMED TO LAST FOREVER. Right as Elaine began to think there wasn't many more aliens to kill, it was like they came back from the dead. She kept seeing her friends get knocked to the ground, so she knew she was going to have to use her powers to their limits.
She began focusing on the feeling of blood pumping through her veins, how the power inside of those veins were building. She focused until her powers hit their absolute limit, and she dropped to her knees, digging her hands into the soft grass beneath her fingertips as her hair framed her face that looked to the ground. As she felt as if she was about to fall from the Eiffel Tower, she let everything out.
Her powerful scream filled with loss, grief, excitement, worry, and pure darkness rumbled through the ground below her. At this point, her powers kept flowing, which meant her power couldn't just flow through her hands. Her body threw itself back while she was still on her knees, and her back arched, forcing the powers to flow straight through her chest.
Any alien around her and her friends disintegrated into dust and severe flashbacks of Pietro's death flashed through her eyes unwillingly. Her body floated itself into the air, and her breathing was deep. She felt a strong electric pull, and when she gracefully floated back onto her feet, she smirked. Her head lifted back onto her shoulders, already knowing what was coming.
As soon as the large ray of colorful light pounced onto the ground next to her, she watched as an axe — similar to Thor's hammer — swung like a frisbee and killed any alien in about a fifty foot radius. When the light was gone, Thor, a raccoon with a gun, and a walking tree stood beside her. The grass was burned with the symbols Asgard's Bifrost left behind.
The raccoon jumped off of Thor's back and cocked their gun. Elaine looked at the axe Thor held and shrugged. "Nice axe."
Thor looked down at her and gave a friendly smile. "Nice body." As soon as he realized what he said when he referred to her glowing form, his eyes widened. "That's not—"
"Thanks." Elaine cut him off with a laugh.
Elaine and Nat smirked to each other as Bruce retracted the head of Veronica's suit. "You guys are so screwed now!"
Elaine walked over and stood with Natasha while Thor began running to Proxima and Cull Obsidian — another child of Thanos.
"Bring me Thanos!" Thor thundered before lifting himself in the air, turning the whole sky dark and thundering, before slamming down with his body and axe, automatically killing any alien that had tried to attack him.
The fighting continued, and Elaine stood with Bucky and the raccoon — whose name she learned was Rocket — and used her telekinesis to basically rip the aliens apart.
"Come and get some, space dogs!" Rocket shouted as he used his gun that definitely wasn't from Earth and shot them. Bucky quickly realized that the aliens were closing in on them, so he made the quick decision to use Rocket as a personal automatic weapon as he spun them in circles. "Come on! Get some! Get some!"
As soon as each alien around them was dead, Bucky dropped the talking raccoon. "How much for the gun?" Rocket asked.
"Not for sale." Bucky replied, and in his head, he admitted that it was weird to be having a casual-ish conversation with an animal. He continued using his gun as Elaine kept ripping the aliens apart.
"Okay. How much for the arm?" Bucky looked down at Rocket in disbelief before glancing at Elaine and walking away. "Oh, I'll get that arm."
Elaine snorted as she also ran off, fighting somewhere else.
"New haircut?" Steve asked Thor as Elaine was between the two.
"Noticed you've copied my beard." Thor smiled as he motioned to his own.
Steve nodded and rubbed it. Thor then saw Groot continuing to kill aliens that came anywhere near them. "By the way, this is a friend of mine, Tree."
Steve turned around and saw Groot with an extended tree branch arm running through three aliens. "I am Groot."
Steve awkwardly nodded and motioned to himself with the shields on his arms. "I am Steve Rogers."
Everyone noticed when the ground began lifting, and giant wheels broke through the surface. They began driving themselves into everyone, which forced T'Challa to call a reasonable fall back.
Elaine wasn't going to fall back, and neither was a lot of warriors. She began rebuilding her strength once more, and as soon as she saw Wanda also flying to get in front of the wheels, Elaine and her sister met in the middle. They landed themselves in front of the flanks and used their combined telekinesis to stop them from moving any further. She and Wanda looked over their shoulders and saw the aliens behind them.
With a grunt of force, they threw their arms downwards and crushed the aliens with the wheels. Okoye and Natasha stood behind them with amazed looks, but Okoye then frowned.
"Why was she up there all this time?" Okoye spoke with a touch of indignant.
After continuing to fight, Sam's voice suddenly spoke up. "Guys, we got a Vision situation here."
"Somebody get to Vision!" Steve shouted, ordering anyone who was available.
"I got him!" Bruce declared.
"On our way!" Elaine added for herself and Wanda before Proxima appeared from no where and punched them, sending the sisters tumbling into a ditch.
Proxima flipped Elaine onto her back with force as her vision spun. "He'll die alone. As will you."
"She's not alone." The soothing voice of Natasha Romanoff came from behind Proxima, which forced the alien to snarl at the sound.
Proxima turned around to face the platinum blonde assassin before looking over her shoulder to see Okoye and Elaine behind her. Okoye nodded at Nat, and with a war cry escaping the alien's lips, the women fought each other.
Another wheel rolled over all of their heads, distracting them from the fight for a second. Proxima kneed Natasha in the face, sending her flying back. She then grabbed Okoye by the neck and threw her to the side. Turning to Elaine, Proxima tried using her sword, only for Elaine to grab the blade with her protected hand and rip out out of the alien's grasp.
Elaine threw it to the side as Natasha got up, only to be knocked down and take Elaine with her. Proxima got on top of Elaine, about to stab her with a weapon built into her suit when Elaine used her telekinesis to stop the blade mere inches from her face. A smirk crawled onto Elaine's lips as she thrusted her arms up, sending Proxima into the wheel that just passed and probably splitting Thanos' child in half.
Blue blood splattered onto her and Natasha's faces, causing both women to grimace.
"That was really gross." Natasha panted as she and Elaine sat back straight, looking at Okoye and Wanda across from them.
"Since when was blood blue?" Elaine furrowed her brows.
