Chapter Nine

SEVERUS' POV

Walking down the hallway to the library was a greasy haired slytherin very lost in his thoughts, he hurriedly walked past the group of Hufflepuff mixed with Ravenclaw girls, one of them shouting an incoherent insult, which Severus payed no mind to.
He was mostly used to it anyways.

The young boy had finally made it through the library doors, he breathed out a sigh, not that many people were there, he gave a nod to the librarian, she was used to seeing him almost everyday and appreciated that he followed the rules instead of mocking her like most of the students at Hogwarts did.

Severus ventured around the section that contained books explaining the changes of a transgender person.

He wandered around, finding nothing in particular that could relate to what he thinks is happening to him, he couldn't think of anything strange that happend to him the past month or so when he had returned to Hogwarts, yet again there was the God awful slime the Marauders pranked him with, but that shouldn't have caused his body to go haywire..

Without thinking Severus had gone into another section across from where he previously was, bumping into a shelf, book fell on his head,

Ow! What the-

The book fell to the floor, severus picks it up, and looks at the cover..

Severus was Intrigued, he ran his thumb over the word 'veela'.
Where had he heard of this word before?.. Oh wait he remebers!
Veelas! Magical beings known to be extremely beautiful and are native to Bulgaria!

Severus placed the book under his arm and made his way to an empty table near a window in a corner, making sure no one saw what he was reading, he had a feeling he should hide this book..

REMUS' POV

He had just finished history of magic, but the whole lesson he couldn't stop thinking about the slytherin, he certainly didn't think he would have to resort to paying the slytherin to get to know him, Remus had to admit, he liked that snape was making this challenging, but the night he realised he had a small crush on the slytherin, he swore he would take that boy out on date!

He couldn't give up now! The plan was to ask snape to study with him in the library, he knew the slytherin would never give him the time of day if it had been anything else he asked for. After hanging out in the library long enough, they would soon be on first name basis and then they would be friends! Remus grinned at that thought.

Then he smiled softly when he imagined Severus smiling at him, God it felt so good saying his given name! Remus blushed wildly, severus smiling at him! Only in his dreams!

Remus couldn't remember the last time he saw Severus smile.. he's seen the slytherin smirk, but not smile..

Just then Remus made it his mission to have Severus smile! Or better yet, laughing!

Remus had walked through the library doors with an air of confidence surrounding him, he walked to the empty section, bumping once again into- Severus?

Well, he didn't actually 'bump into' the slytherin, he caught sight of Severus sitting at a table in a corner near a window, he had his now small nose buried in a book. Remus wondered how he got his nose to get so small.

The werewolf walked slowly towards the slytherin, he gazed at severus, taking note of how adorable his face looked when focused before he decided to make his presence known.

"... why hello there.."

Severus jumped and quickly closed the book he was reading. He looked up surprised that someone other than lily was speaking to him.

A scowl now quickly took form on the slytherin's face as he realised who it was, he had to remember to take this book to his sanctuary to read, there he could do his business in peace without some annoying boy bothering him.

"You.. what do you want?"- Severus

"Well.. nothing really I just saw you and wanted to talk"- Remus

Severus could feel the Gryffindor bravery practically leaking out of the boy in front of him, Lupin never behaves this way in front of his dorky friends.

"We don't have anything to talk about, now if you would excuse me I'd like to get back to what I was doing"- Severus

"Do you know how to play solitaire?"- Remus took the card pack from his pocket, don't ask him why its there in the first place.

"What?"- Severus

"Solitaire, it's a card game"- Remus

Severus accidentally tilted his head to show his confusion.

Remus chuckled.

Severus blushed, but of course not for the reason you're thinking of! He was blushing because of his lack of knowledge about this 'solitaire'.. thing..

"Well, my friends aren't as interested in the game as I am, and I thought who better to play it with than you?"- Remus

"Hmmpff, well guess what? I don't want to play with you, find someone else!"- Severus huffed.

"Hah! You don't want to play because you know I'll beat you"- Remus smirked.

"I bet you can't beat me in not even a single game!" Remus chuckled again.

Severus was tired of his arrogant behaviour, so he came up with a way to get Lupin to leave him alone, if he could beat this boy in one game then he would finally have his peace, he knew he wasn't all that in sports but he figured he would do great in board and card games.

"Fine if I beat you in one game you have to leave me alone"- Severus

"Deal"- Remus

Remus held out his hand again that day to shake the slytherins hand, but Severus remembered the smile that Remus had given him and rushed Remus into setting up the game on the table.

Let's just say both of them were 30 minutes late for DADA, severus had to admit it, he did have a good time with the weirdo, and the both of them agreed to meet in the library at the same table again the next day, and on the day after that, and on Saturdays and Sundays, until it had been a month since the two of them had been hanging out.

Author here heh 😅 so sorry for the late update, I didn't intend to take so long to write this one chapter, anyways I hoped you enjoyed this one.
