A/N
This is just a pic of someone that looks like Lacey.
Okay, here goes....Lacey's POV
I sit at the back of the bus. The unfamiliar route is going to make me sick. Seriously, does anyone else notice how jacked the shocks are?!?
I rest my head against the back of my seat and turn up my music in attempt to drown out the shouting, yelling, and laughing of the people in front of me. I've been going to school with these people for a couple of months now, and this is my first bus ride. Usually, I'll ride my cruiser bike to school, but I was beyond late and I really didn't feel like holding 50 pounds of homework on my back. The one thing I hate about A.P. classes is the homework. That is it.
I decide to focus on the lyrics of the songs.
"...I said its to late to apologize...." Nope. Skip.
"...if we're not stupid, we'll both hold on for dear love...."
Gosh, sometimes I swear my music hates me.
Through the fog, I could see the giant private school, Ocean View Academy. Placing my phone into my backpack, I hop off the bus.
The day goes by uneventfully.
Advanced Science .
Advanced Language Arts.
Advanced History.
Advanced Math.
All of which I nearly sleep through, but somehow, I still ace every stupid test.
Next is lunch. I have a couple of friends: Beth and Sam. We were all new to this school this year and we all met at the same time because we all lived on the same street.
The next period is physical education. I'm lucky, my mom and I were able to put me in a program were I'm able to do basically anything I want for PE. I have tons of choices from the gym, the pool, or running. I really needed to clear my head so I chose running.
Placing my earbuds into my ears, I began my pace on a well worn path behind the school.
One hour and 15 miles later, I changed out of my sweaty shorts and tank.
Public schools usually have sickeningly disgusting showers, but OVA has private, clean stalls to rise down.
The frigid water cooled my heated skin and my skin went back to its usual cold state.
Slipping into my leggings, sweater, and boots, I planted a messy bun atop my head, and went to my last class of the day: Art.
On my way down the corridor, I kept my head down and clutched my folders and equipment closer to my chest.
It bothered me that people always stared at me. 'Oh, look it's a new kid.' 'Oh look how small she is,' that kinda thing.
I quickened my pace, worried I would be late. Just because you're a new kid does not give you a reason to be late.
I heard murmuring from ahead and mentally scolded myself for wanting to know how the voice belonged to. 'Just keep your head down-' SLAM!
"Oh my god, I am so sorry! I didn't see you there!" I kept my head down as I grabbed our items from the ground, hoping Luke- I saw on his name on his binder- wouldn't see that I was red with embarrassment.
"It's okay," he said smoothly, into my ear. This was the voice I heard. I glanced up. He was already looking at me. His eyes. They were the first thing I saw. They were the most shocking of blue I've seen. His hair a wavy brown. Tanned skin. Beach necklace. Strong.
I glanced back down.
"Hey....." He whispered.
I got up and gave him his stuff. I rushed to class when he jogged up next to me.
"What class do you have next?"
"Art," I spoke hesitantly.
"Oh..." He looked down. "Well, I'll see you around, okay?"
I nodded, smirking ever so slightly. "Okay."
