Luke's POV
The end of the school year party was the one about a week ago where Brittney kissed me. And Lace and I have spent nearly all our time since then time together, whether it be in big groups with our friends or alone.
With our friends, we decided to have a bonfire.
We went to a plateau on the beach, and had a blast with our guitars and singing, then we all went for a swim, and finally settled down in one huge tent. With everyone set up in their own sleeping bag, we positioned them so we all looked towards the middle at the lantern.
"What do you want to play?" Sabrina, one of Lacey's friends asked. She eyed me and I looked away awkwardly. She really likes me...
"Truth or dare!" Alex said. He's always in for games like that.
"Okay! Lace! Truth or dare?" Beth eyed Lacey mysteriously.
Lacey did the same and no one else did, but I saw here grab the chocolate bar, and keeping her eyes locked on Beth, she threw the bar, causing Beth to shriek and for all of us to laugh.
"Oh love, bad choice!" Beth playfully glared.
"Dare!"
"Fine, go out to that group of guys out on the beach that we saw earlier and act like a drunk penguin!" She exclaimed.
We all laughed; it was the perfect dare for Lace, she was already in a penguin onesie.
She crawled out and down towards the beach. We followed her down to see what she would do and I'm pretty sure a couple of us had our videotapes rolling.
Suddenly, Lacey tripped, legitimately over everything.
She slammed into their jeep and a curious silence washed over them.
"I don't know what sound a penguin makes, but I'm pretty sure they don't talk. So if you don't mind, I'm just going to stare at you guys with my cute penguin face okay?" Lacey pretended to slur. She stayed there for a moment, just staring. But if anyone knew Lacey, you knew that she was highly unpredictable to those who don't know her. She began crouching down, low enough to where the guys couldn't see her anymore. She then reached up and opened the car door. The guys were laughing at this point, just going along with whatever she did. At one point, the driver was pulled out of his seat and Lacey turned on the radio, changing it to...yup, the alternative station. She looked at everyone in the jeep and spoke with so much slur, I would be shocked if she wasn't drunk.
"Penguins listen to this station, you should, too," at this point, all of us blew our cover by cracking up in laughter. She did too, and the guys agreed, blaring the station from their speakers.
By the end of the night, we had drunk penguins, fake lesbians and gays, real straights, 5 flashes to the others on the beach, 2 random, accented songs, and 4 free style raps.
Everyone at this point was sleeping, and I scooted my sleeping bag closer to Lacey's. She must have heard me because she flipped around in her blankets.
She stayed silent as I traced her jaw with my finger slightly. If possible, I move closer to peck her nose. She exchanged with me a slight grin as she planted a soft kiss on my lips. My beautiful girl then nuzzled her head into my chest, being sure to kiss me on last time before falling into a light sleep in my arms.
