Author POV
Lacey and Luke sit on Lacey's bed playing bullshit with a deck of cards lying on the desk.
Lacey observed for a moment before grinning into Luke's eyes, "Bullshit."
"DAMN!!! How do you know I'm lying?!?"
Lacey laughed, and leaving the room to use the restroom.
Luke laughed and took in his surroundings.
A speaker for music...pictures of Keylo and Lacey...pictures of Trixie...photographs of Lacey on the beach. Luke took a closer look at a couple pictures: one from the beach and one at what looks like a race. He stared at the glistening items in her hand, and gasped.
"Gosh, what?" Lacey said, climbing back onto the bed.
"You're a stud?" Luke questioned.
Lacey was a bit confused, trying to see what pictures Luke was looking at.
"Do you have these trophies somewhere?" Luke asked, showing Lacey the pictures. She smiled, memories flooding her mind. In one swift movement, she went to the closet full of horse trophies and scanned over nameplates, trying to find the correct awards.
Within a few moments, Lacey extracted two VERY heavy, foot and a half tall trophies.
"Whoa," Luke stared at the trophies.
Lacey set them down for him to read and startled her when he yelled, "YOU'RE A CHAMPION SURFER!!!! AND RUNNER?!"
Lacey blushed slightly, "Yeah, I mean, I take my hobbies seriously Luke. And also, why else would I have such a challenging board?"
Luke's face of shock warped into a grin Lacey had to contain herself from.
"Am I a hobby?" Luke cooed.
"Nah, you're no hobby Luke," Lacey stated, waving a hand in his direction.
She laughed at his face which was over flowing with hurt.
She crawled over to him and said, "You can live without hobbies, Lucas."
Taking that as a cue, Luke leaned in, pressing his lips against Lacey's. As the kiss grew more passionate, Luke was nearly in a lying down position, and he held himself up by Lacey's waist.
Luke bit her lip softly, hoping Lacey would let the kiss grow even more so.
She did, but broke away when his hands were becoming a bit to adventurous.
"Now, now you horny boy," she chuckled as he whimpered.
In attempt to make him feel better, she kissed him once more and got up.
"Want to go to my house?" Luke asked.
"Indeed, I have questions for you as well," she winked."Those are pictures of me when I won the national championship," Luke explained as Lacey stared in aw at the photographs.
"So we are both star runners then?"
Luke beamed, answering her question.
'You've got me wrapped around your finger, you know that?' Luke thought, gazing into the girl's bright blue eyes.
"Baby girl?" Luke asked, nervous about the topic.
"Yeah?" She answered, pinning the pictures back onto Luke's wall. She had an idea of what Luke was going to bring up, and she felt ready to tell him.
"Can you, um," Luke nervously rubbed the back of his neck, trying to find the right words to say, "Can you tell me about your anorexia?" 'SHIT LUKE!' Luke scolded himself for blurting, and sent the beautiful girl a soft look, hoping she'll forgive him for blurting to quickly.
He visibly relaxed when she grinned.
"I um, well you know my dad..." She started but trailed off when she saw Luke tense. Luke hated that man with everything he had.
She started up again when Luke laced his fingers through hers, sending the usual, electrifying feeling up both their spines; the same feeling they get every time they touch in anyway.
"My dad, he used to make me believe that I was overweight, when in fact, I was average. His teasing got worse, and so did the actions I took. At one point, I refused to eat dinner for about a week and a half, and he seemed pleased to have gotten into my head like that. After a while, I just wasn't hungry anymore, and if I was, I ignored it."
Luke took this as a time to ask questions.
"Didn't that hurt? Not eating when you were hungry I mean?"
"Yeah, but I deserve it," Lacey looked down.
Luke's hands tightened around hers, "No you don't. And I've noticed Lace. I've noticed that you've been eating more since he left, and I want you to know that I'm so proud of you for that. I also want you to know," Luke paused for effect, using this time to go behind her and hug her from behind, whispering in her ear, "That you are fucking beautiful. And I love you for you."
