Hisato's words had resonated with Hiro to a point wherein he didn't notice the next person to enter the station's cortex, and as he wiped a stray tear from his cheek, the young genius took a moment to acknowledge what had been conveyed to him; the man who'd inspired him all these years had called him something he was sure he didn't deserve, and Hiro would forever cherish the few moments for which he believed him -- but reality was cruel and unfiltered, and it was one the boy had been made painfully aware of. He hadn't been born with the prerequisite necessary for a career in heroism, and that was simply something he would have to accept.

"Thank you, doctor .. for believing I could be someone like that," he began, a soft sigh escaping his lips. "But I'm probably the last guy anyone should call if they're in danger. I dunno if I was checked or anything in the last five months, but I'm really just a regular kid without any powers. Quirkless, for lack of a better term."

"You were, to put it simply," spoke the new arrival, playfully punching Hisato in the shoulder before he could formulate a response. He was a boy, seemingly no older than Hiro himself; handsome in the way a resourceful scoundrel was, freckles and messy brown hair creating an image comparable to Izuku, but with an air of roguish charm undetectable in the more familiar greenette. "Me, Ruka, and the good doctor here did all sorts of research on you while you were in the nether-realm. Academic prodigy, but a woeful embarassment in well .. everything else. In other words, you're a textbook loser, dude."

"Thanks," replied Hiro, an eyebrow arched. "You got a name, or should 'asshole' suffice for the foreseeable future?"

"That isn't any way to talk to your saviour, now is it?"

Hisato cleared his throat, garnering at once the attention of the two males. His expression shifted towards the brunette, and two short steps were taken towards him before the older scientist placed a gentle hand on the boy's shoulder; they were familiar with one another in a similar manner to Ruka, and if Hiro could hazard a guess, they had been working together in an odd sort of trio for at least the five months during which he was in a catatonic state.

"This is Satoki Miyagi," he said, as the loose-lipped snapper he referred to rolled his eyes. "He set up most of the computer equipment we have here at the station, and like you, he's a rising name in an academic field."

"I'm a tech god, and let's face it, one of the best around. You can take that to the bank, coma boy," spoke Satoki, haughty attitude drawing dangerously close to an explosive blonde Hiro had known all too well prior to the conference accident. "Doctor Takahashi only takes the absolute cream of the crop under his wing. You could call me his protégé of sorts."

"Is that so? How's Ruka fit in, then?"

Satoki's eye twitched almost imperceptibly, as if he hadn't incorporated that detail into his thought process; an awkward pause, before he pointed a defensive finger in the direction of his dark haired counterpart. He'd believed strongly that he would be the one to succeed the billionare who mentored them both, and additionally, that Ruka behaved as if she was entitled to such a responsibility due to the fact that she was a blood relative. "That's completely different, blue-tips - don't you pick up a newspaper? Her and the doctor are brother and sister .. y'know. Family?"

"I doubt that's why he's kept her around," Hiro countered, before something arose at the forefront of his mind in response to the other's mentions of family. Before he'd come into contact with the first member of the scientific squadron, he had been most concerned with escaping the facility in hopes of returning home to the only family he had; his first thought was that Soichiro would be furious at his blatant disregard of instruction, but it dawned quickly upon Hiro that a man who'd spent five months without the presence of his nephew wouldn't resort to scolding upon seeing him once more -- and in fact, Hiro couldn't wait another second to wrap his arms around the man he considered his father, and to tell him that he was alive and well.
