Hisato Takahashi was only nineteen years of age when he'd first captured the attention of the media, and since he'd risen to unimaginable heights of success through the industry of technology and applied sciences. He had progressed from a junkie workshop dweller to one of the wealthiest entrepreneurs the Japanese had to offer, and Hiro could say with honesty that he was deserving of more respect than any of his peers. When asked why, the young genius would make an offhand remark in regards to the way he carried himself, or the amount of money he'd earned over the course of his career; but in truth, there was a reason for his preference that completely overshadowed any other.

Like him, Hisato was completely and utterly quirkless.

When Hiro looked at him, he saw a man who defied all odds - not because of how many villainous characters he could dispatch with a single blow, or how many were rescued in his arms from a burning building, but because of his firm and unwavering belief in humanity's progress. Such ideals led to the development of an anti matter reactor, a device theoretically capable of harnessing energy derived from a conceptual alternate universe, and therefore granting its users the ability to power machinery with no limits. The awe of it all had thrust those in line with Hisato's vision into doubt, and many had disengaged due to the danger presented by his investments - but this didn't deter the scientist in the slightest, and today would be the day wherein the reactor is unveiled and activated publically for the first time.

Hiro's anticipation was so thick one could cut it with a knife. Before he'd arrived at the specified venue, he'd been ruminating on whether heed of his uncle's instruction took presidence over the conference, and had he been made to wait a few minutes longer, he would have most definitely turned back in favour of the former. Soichiro was a wise, cautious man, and raising a boy without the luxury of a quirk had only augmented the wariness with which he treated his surroundings. He saw Hiro as the son he'd never had, and while the teenage boy returned the sentiment and more, at times like this he believed that Soichiro lacked faith in his ability to look out for himself due to an irreversible biological disadvantage.

It was now he stood amongst many of his idol's supporters, the flash of cameras like sparks against the veil of an ever darkening sky. Hiro shuffled through the crowd, murmuring his status as a VIP in hopes of getting a closer look at the man; and once he had, the young man felt as if the proximity he had with Hisato was symbolic of the closeness he shared with his goal. He was positioned atop a podium, effortlessly manipulating the applause given unto him by his disciples, and taking moments to shake the hands of those closest to him. A spritely man somewhere between his late twenties and early thirties, Hisato was to many the perfect billionaire - spotless suit, slicked back hair, pointed nose, and a square jawed smile that had earned him sway with women as well as their male counterparts.

Hiro supposed it wasn't hard. To the right of him, there was a man whose head looked as if it belonged on a crow's body; common traits in his day and age, and as time passed, the proportion of people with conventionally attractive features reduced in favour of those who did not. These dawned alongside the quirk phenomena, and the minority became ones such as himself and Hisato - regressive, simplistic .. powerless in comparison. The teenager's train of thought was halted when the noise of his surroundings died down, and the man of the hour readied himself to speak up.

"My name is Hisato Takahashi, and today, we are going to make history," the scientist spoke, one hand placed in his pocket, while the other gesticulated to his audience. "The work my team and I have completed over the past few months will expand scientific horizons in a way it has never been done before. It'll bring about advancements in power, advancements in medicine .. today is the beginning of the future. And it will arrive faster than you can predict."
