Study Date

I check my schedule to see who I’m tutoring tonight. I read the name: Thomas Sangster. Oh my God! Thomas Sangster. I’ve hated that guy since, like, forever. He was one of those jocks who only cares about sports and don’t care about their grades at all. No wonder he needs a tutor. He’s always really cocky too and he’s always tries to be better than everyone, at everything. Everything sports anyway.

I hurry to the library to wait for him, even though I really don’t want to. I sit at one of the tables, preparing for the tutoring. I get out some of my science books. I quickly check the clock and see it’s 5 minutes until he’s supposed to be here. I hope he doesn’t come late. As if on cue, Thomas walks through the doors and sits down in front of me.

“Hi,” he says, smiling. I fake a smile back and look down at the books, getting the rest of my stuff ready. “Umm… Thanks in advanced for this, you know the whole tutoring thing. I’m really struggling in that class, so thanks,” Thomas says, rubbing the back of his neck, kind of nervously.

“No problem,” I say, hiding my actual feeling for this guy. Why did it have to be him? I would have chosen anyone besides him. I internally groan. I open my textbook to the first page we need to go over. “Okay, so what is a…” I begin, but am cut off by Thomas.

“You know you are really pretty,” he states. “You know what would make you even prettier if you took these off,” Thomas said as he reached across the table, taking off my glasses. Did I actually just let him do that? Oh my God!

“Woah, what are you doing?” I asked, backing away after he took them off.

“I just wanted to see what you look like without these,” Thomas says, holding up my glasses. “Yup, I was right, you are very pretty,” Thomas tells me. I squint, unable to see much without my glasses. I can faintly see Thomas’ cheeky grin.

“Okay… Well, can I have my glasses back?” I ask Thomas, reaching my arm out for him to place them in my hand. When he doesn’t I feel anger building up inside me.

“Why would I do that?” Thomas asks. I feel like punching him now.

“Because otherwise I won’t be able to see,” I almost yell. I take a deep breath, trying to calm myself.

“Woah, okay, I’m sorry,” Thomas says, giving me back my glasses. I don't think he was expecting me to blow like that. I place them back on my face. Before I know it, Thomas has scooted over so he’s sitting right next to me. I turn to him and give him a ‘back off’ look. He doesn’t get the gesture.

“So, shall we get started?” Thomas says, clapping his hands together.

“Sure,” I say, slouching down in my chair. I scan the page with my finger, trying to find the question I was going to ask Thomas. “Alright, what’s an ion?” I ask Thomas. I turn to him and he just shrugs. Then he puts his chin in his hand and his elbow on the table. Thomas just stares at me. “What?” I ask. Thomas puts his hand on my cheek. Oh my God! What’s he doing? His hand caresses the side of my face and I let him. Why aren’t I stopping him? I feel his other hand tangle itself in my hair. He slowly pulls each strand of hair out of my braid. I feel the hair band slide out of my hair and fall to the floor.

“(Y/N)... Do you know why you were assigned to tutor me?” Thomas asked. All I could do was shake my head. He nods and continues. “I chose you, so I could do this…” Thomas said. Then he leaned in and locked lips with mine. His lips moved like he’d done it millions of times before. I tried my best to pull away, but I wouldn't let myself. When Thomas finally pulled away, I tried to be mad at him. I tried to act like I hated it, but I couldn’t. I didn’t. I liked it. A lot. So instead of yelling at him. I kissed him again.
