My Surprise Part 2

Thomas. He stood in front of the door. He say everything. I just watched him with my mouth agape. I still couldn’t believe what had just happened. Thomas dropped a bouquet of roses he held in his hand. My heart dropped at the sight.

“Ryan, get out!” I practically yell. Ryan jumps a bit at the anger in my voice. Thankfully, he gets up and walks past Thomas, out the door, without saying or doing anything more. Thomas never stopped glaring at him, I couldn’t blame him, after what he just witnessed. Once Ryan was out the door, Thomas walked over to me. I still sat on the floor. I looked up at Thomas, until he dropped to his knees. He takes me by surprise, so i jump a bit, like Ryan had done when I yelled.

“Why?” he asked, barely audible for me. And I was right in front of him.

“I promise you, he kissed me,” I say. I will do whatever it takes to get him to believe me.

“Why was he here?” Thomas asked, his voice raising after every word. He was actually yelling. Thomas had never yelled at me. I’d actually never seen him yell at anyone, except in movies. Why did I have to invite Ryan? Why Ryan? My hung my head in shame. I brought this onto myself, didn’t I? I was the one who invited Ryan. I just wish I wouldn’t have. I thought he was over me. I feel horrible. I’m causing Thomas pain. I’m hurting the man I love. And that hurts me.

“I invited him,” I admit. Thomas lifts my chin so his eyes meet mine. I can see the tears in his eyes.

“Why? Do you not love me anymore?” Thomas asks, his voice cracked when he said the word ‘love’. He holds my chin up, so our gaze doesn’t break. Tears start to form in my eyes. One by one they trickle down my cheeks. I don’t know how long it will be until I am full out bawling.

“Of course I still love you! I just needed a friend. He was the only friend I had left, here,” I tell Thomas. Thomas moves his hand from my chin and my head instantly falls. I can’t look at him. I feel too bad.

“I’m so sorry. I didn't mean for this to happen,” I say, trying to convince Thomas of my love for him.

“Please believe me,” I say. Tears stream down my face now. I couldn’t stop them for anything.

“Love,” Thomas begins. He lifts my head again, but instead of looking me in the eye, like he did before, he kisses me.

“Of course I believe you. I know you wouldn’t do anything like that on purpose,” Thomas says after a long, passionate kiss. He holds me tight until all my tears vanish.

“I’m sorry for yelling,” Thomas says.

“I’m sorry for Ryan,” I reply. Thomas kisses my forehead and pulls me onto his lap. I lay my head against his muscular chest. I listen to his heart beat. I compare our heartbeats, they are almost in sync.

“I love you,” Thomas whispers, quietly in my ear. I snuggle closer onto his chest, of that was even possible.

“I love you too,” I reply. Then my eyes get heavy and before I know it I’m asleep in Thomas’ arms. The only place I want to be.
