Chapter 22 Pursuers

The three just saw the green smoke signals they identified are from the Survey Corps.

"Reiner, what are you right now?" Bertholdt asked grabbing Reiner's shoulders

"Calm down. I'm a Warrior." Reiner said removing Bertholdt's hands on his shoulder

"And you trust Ymir as a Warrior? She ate Marcel, remember?" Bertholdt asked

"Yeah. That's how we know exactly where she stands. She finally turned back into human so she decided to play her cardsright and look out for number one until she met Christa. Y/N has some special feelings for Christa, but that's not the reason I want to bring her with us." Reiner said

Suddenly, Reiner was punched on the face.

"You... Shut up with the 'Special Feelings." Y/N said while blushing

"Sorry. Let me continue. Christa is an important person to the Wallists. If Eren isn't the Coordinate, then our mission is not yet over. But if we have Christa, it'll be a lot easier to find." Reiner said

More smoke signals are fired and they noticed the Scouts were getting close.

"Let's just put an end to this. The next time we come back here, let's find Annie and Christa and all go back home together. And then we'll never come here again." Bertholdt said

"Yeah. Our mission will be complete. When we get back to our hometown, tell Annie how you feel." Reiner said

"Wait, what?" Bertholdt blushed

Bertholdt looked at Y/N and he saw Y/N giving him a thumbs up.

"You're always staring at her. I'm not the only one who could tell." Reiner said

"No, I..." Bertholdt was cut off

"What's the problem? The three of us are murderers with hardly any time left. How could anyone understand one of us without being on the same boat?" Reiner said before swinging to the branch where Ymir and Eren were at.

Y/N looks at where the smoke signals came from ignoring Reiner trying to restrain Eren and Bertholdt discussing something with Ymir.

"I hope you didn't come with them... Christa. Please don't come." Y/N said in his thoughts worriedly

Reiner, Bertholdt, and Y/N starts to escape using their ODM Gears. Eren was tied on Reiner's back while Ymir was on Bertholdt's back.

"For now, let's go where there aren't any Titans! We need to lose our friends here." Reiner said while they look at the horde of Titans chasing after them

"My Titan's slow, so if we get surrounded, I can't protect all of us! Same goes to you, Y/N! Your Titan is made for offensive uses only!" Reiner said

"This is why you should've just waited 'till nighttime!" Ymir said

"If they want a scout formation, they'd need to transport a lot of horses over the wall. I didn't think they'd be able to make that decision so quickly. Commander Erwin might be with them, and he's a tough one." Reiner said

Another smoke signal was fired and it was very close.

"Damn it! They're getting closer!" Y/N said

"It's all because Eren had to throw his tantrums." Reiner said

"No, she wouldn't... Reiner! Christa's in the Scout party!" Ymir suddenly shouted

"Huh?!" Y/N looked at her in shock

"Now's our chance to take her with us!" Ymir said

"How do you know that?! There's no way you could see her!" Reiner said

"She's definitely there! She's kind-hearted to the point of stupidity! She's comingbto save me!" Ymir said

"Even if she is, now is a bad time! We'll wait for another time!" Reiner said

"Huh?!" Ymir looked confused

"It'd be impossible to pull off now! How wpuld we get Christa out of there? Wait for a better chance!" Reiner said

"Wait for a better chance'? And when's that? After one of your 'Warriors' eats me? No! I can't trust you!" Ymir said

"You have to! Christa's important to us too!" Reiner said

"Then prove it! Save her now! It has to be now! I want to see her. At this rate, I'll never see her again, right?" Ymir asked

"It's impossible." Reiner said

"Sorry, Ymir. We don't even know if we can get away with just the four of us." Bertholdt said

"I promise! If no one else, we'll save Christa from this war! So please, be patient now! It's for her sake! Okay, Ymir?!" Reiner asked

"You're absolutely sure about that?" Ymir asked

"Yeah!" Reiner said

"Fine." Ymir said

"Thanks." Reiner said

"Sorry. I'm the strongest of all in this terrain." Ymir said

"S-Stop, Ymir!" Bertholdt shouted while Ymir covers his eye

"Hey, stop!" Y/N said

"Don't you think I could dominate in this area?" Ymir asked

Ymir forcibly turned Bertholdt's head to the front and they saw a tree. Bertholdt unhooks from the tree and hooks on another.

"Ymir, stop! We'll fall!" Bertholdt said

"Fine by me. I can just go Titan. Sure, it's weaker than your Titans, but I cna move swiftly with these trees. I could even probably steal Eren back and meet up with the Survey Corps. If you're not gonna take Christa with you here and now, I'll throw a wrench in your plans." Ymir said

"Are you crazy? What about Christa? Doing that, she'll never be saved!" Reiner shouted

"No problem. Even if it means stealing her future, I want to survive and see her again! I'm an absolutely shitty person, so you wouldn't understand. She'll laugh together with anyone, even someone as horrible as me!" Ymir said

"Ymir-" Reiner was cut off by Y/N

"Stop, Reiner. We have no choice. She'll also be an advantage we can use to escape from here. I highly doubt that horses can catch up to the Jaws." Y/N said

Y/N, Bertholdt, and Reiner were on a branch and they saw Ymir getting closer.

"She's here." Y/N said

"Yeah." Reiner nodded

Reiner jumped off the branch and he slashes his palm with his knife and a thunderbolt struck him.

The Armored Titan started running. Y/N and Bertholdt jumped off the branch and they hooked their ODM Gears on the Armored Titan's nape while Ymir catches up to them and jumps on The Armored Titan's back.

Mikasa, Armin, Jean, Connie, and Sasha who were hanging on the trees was there watching them frozen.

"Oh no! They're taking Eren away!" Armin said

"Don't stop! Get on your horses and follow them!" Hannes said

They rode their horses and they chased after Y/N and the others.

"I'm gonna take Eren back! Even if it costs my life!" Hannes shouted.
