Chapter Three

Saint felt like his thoughts are floating in the air.He went straight to the hospital after dropping Mina in her house.He doesn't even recall if he had said goodbye to her.He will just call her later.

Once in the hospital,he was running to the ICU room where his Mom was being confined for more than two months now.

There he met Pree and Dr.Bun.

"Sawasdee khap,Dr.Bun!",greeted Saint while panting.

"Sawasdee Nong Saint!",greeted back Dr.Bun,a kind and well-known neuro-surgeon in one of Bangkok's reputable hospital.

"Dr.Bun,Pree called me and said to come here because you want to talk to me about our Mom's condition.How is she?",Saint nervously asked.

"Nong,as I've told you before when your Mom was brought here after the accident.She suffered from Intracranial Hematoma (A/N:A collection of blood w/in the skull.It's most commonly caused by the rupture of a blood vessel w/in the brain or from trauma such as motor vehicle accidents or fall).That's why she's having some episode of seizure attack.After consulting with other doctors,we suggest that your Mom needs to undergo Craniotomy.",explained Dr.Bun.

"A Cranio...Craniotomy?",a baffled Saint asked.

"Yes,a Craniotomy.A kind of brain surgery to remove part of the skull bone.This is done to control the bleeding and decrease pressure in the brain.",Dr.Bun explained again.

"Will she be fine after the surgery?Will she gain back her consciousness,Dr.Bun?"

"Honestly,Nong,I can't really say that the surgery will be a hundred percent succesful.But,as a doctor I can say that there's a greater chance tho for your Mom.It will help her to recover faster.And I can assure you that we will do our best for her.Because we value the lives of our patients.",Dr.Bun honestly told Saint.

"Even if you say it wouldn't have a hundred percent outcome,I still want Mom to undergo the surgery.I will take all the chances just for her to be with us.She's the only we had after Dad passed away when Pree and I were still young.So please do everything for our Mom,Dr.Bun.We trust you."Almost choking at his words,Saint tried to control for his tears not to slip.

"Thank you for trusting me Nong Saint.Before I forget,I want to tell you the repercussions of the surgery to the patient.In our previous operations,some patients show memory problems after.They tend to be forgetting things easily.Some patients get stroke or paralyzed.Some have impaired speech,vision or coordination.That is why we recommend our patients to undergo a rehab theraphy.It will help them heal and recover faster.After knowing all these,do you still want to proceed with your Mom's surgery?",Dr.Bun asked Saint to make sure if the young man is really willing to take the risk for their beloved Mom.

"Yes,Dr.Bun.It's good to know that you inform us about all these things.But,there's one thing that I am worried about.Umm..About...About the expenses for the surgery,Dr.Bun.",worry is written all over Saint's handsome face.

Dr.Bun knew that Saint's family is not rich.They belong to the middle-class.Their Mom used to manage a small noodle house at the first floor of their three-storey house,before the accident happened.And being in the ICU for more than two months it already cost them a fortune.Their Mom's savings and insurance wouldn't be enough to cover all her medical bills and expenses.And the upcoming surgery.

"I know you will ask me about this thing Nong.Craniotomy is quiet expensive.Because the surgery itself requires a very delicate procedure.But,I can ask the hospital admin to let you sign a waiver to allow you to deposit 20%-30% of the total amount and then pay the remaining balance in the form both parties agreed upon.The surgery might cost a million or more.So, if you are ready just talk to me in my office.Don't worry too much,Nong.Have faith.",Dr.Bun gave Saint a fatherly hug after.

"Thank you so much,Dr.Bun.I will let you know as soon as we're ready.",Saint hug back the kind doctor as he bid goodbye.

Once the doctor left,Preeda approach Saint.She knew how hard it is for her Phi.He's been shouldering all the burden since that fateful day they almost lost their Mom.

"Phi,do you..Do you think we can find the amount of money needed for Mom's operation?",Preeda ask almost uncertain.

"Do we have to give up now,Pree?We've gone through so much the past months.Dr.Bun has told us himself that there's a great chance Mom will recover despite the risks after the surgery.I trust him.I trust Mom.She is strong you know.And I trust God.I'll do everything for Mom." Then the tears that Saint was holding back earlier flows freely from his eyes.

Pree hug his Phi while drops of tears are also shown in her eyes.They comforted each other.The hug seem to give them enough strength,knowing that no matter what will happen both will have each other's back.

A/N:I hope you didn't get bored.PerthSaint interaction wasn't featured much in the last two chapters I updated.But,in the next chapters to come,I promise to make your heart flutter.But no "steamy" scene yet..😉😉
