Chapter Five

"Yes!Who else?You badly needed a job,right?You need a big amount of money so the doctors can push through with your Mom's operation.You said she needed it immediately.I think this is the only chance for you to earn that much in a limited time.And besides,I know how good of a dancer you were.I remember you were chosen to perform in our high school and crossed-dress as a girl because our classmate suddenly got sick.People were applauding after that performance.Thinking that it was really a girl doing the Hula dance (a sensous mimetic Hawaiian dance).",Mean reminiscing those times and felt proud of his bestfriend.

"You don't have to bring that up,Mean.And it's only once.I never dance again.Besides,I don't know what will Preeda and Par Suda will say about this.Not to mention Mina,my girlfriend.I have to consider their feelings."

Deep down,Saint wanted to grab the offer.He wants to do everything for his Mom.And he knew,he wouldn't find a job that will pay him that much.But on the other hand,he doesn't know how will his sister and Aunt will react to this.Especially his girlfriend,Mina.

"I know in our society,some people look down on drag queens and strippers.But,they aren't really what others think about them.Yes!They do that for money.They dance and strip to earn for a living.But,I think there's more to it than what are eyes see.Each one of them has a story to tell.And to be honest,I really don't give a damn!Each one of us needs to survive and that's their way of surviving.I think your Aunt and sister will understand if ever you will take the job.Your Mom's life is your top priority.As for your girlfriend,if she truly loves you,she will understand.It's not that you will do this for the rest of your life,but only for a time being."

Plan has really a point.Saint doesn't have much time to lose.

"And there's that saying that what they doesn't know won't hurt them.Right,Babe?",Plan poke Mean on his side as he was trying to pursuade Saint.He can see how desperate Saint wants his Mom to have an operation.Only they weren't rich enough to provide for that.Suck this poverty!

"You mean I have to lie to them?To keep this as a secret?But,it will be hard to keep secrets from Pree and Aunt Suda.They will definitely ask me where did I go when I come home later at night.",frustrations start to eat Saint up.

"Saint,you think about everything first.Whatever you come up with,we will support you.When you have decided just call me okay?"

Mean is really worried about his friend seeing him at a very difficult phase in his life.If only he was rich,he will shoulder Aunt Phutch's operation and medical bills.And if only that bastard son of a bitch who was responsible for Par's accident was caught by the police,he will pay for everything.Saint wouldn't be in a dilemma right now.

It's been three days since the last time I've talked to Mean and Plan.And up until now,I still can't decide.It's not as simple as choosing which color of brief I should wear.But,it is something that could make a change in my life forever.And affect the people I treasured the most.

I was still in deep thoughts when I felt like my body is shaking.Is there an earthquake?Or has a bomb been drop in our school?

"Saint!Saint!Earth to you!",an irritated Perth is shaking off Saint's shoulders.His been calling the guy sitting beside him for a couple of minutes now.But the guy seemed to be in far away land that he has to shake him out of his musings.

"What?Why did you do that?",Saint raised his voice an octave higher after being startled with what Perth did to him awhile ago.

"I've been calling you out for God knows how long.But,you seem to be engrossed with your daydream!Can't you wait until the class is over?You can see your girlfriend after so you know.",Perth gave him a wicked grin.

What the?..This guy thought I was imagining things with my girlfriend?The audacity of him!

"Well,Mr.Tanapon,to tell you frankly I don't have a bit of any perverted thoughts to anyone in my cell.What more to my own girlfriend!"

If looks could kill,Perth would have been dead by now as Saint shooting daggers with his eyes.

Perth then realize he might have gone overboard since they aren't even close to begin with.He shouldn't have said that joke to him.

"I..I didn't mean what I said really.It's suppose to be a joke.I'm sorry!"

"Ah.It's okay.Sorry if I snapped out.I was startled by you,that's why.Umm..Do you wanna say something?",a calm Saint then ask.

"Yes!Sir Chen has picked us to be partners for our thesis.I bet you weren't paying attention while he said that during the class.(Saint then gets embarassed).We have to undergo into an immersion program.We will at our designated location for five days.And from there we can start doing our thesis as we observe the family we will stay with."

As Perth finished explaining to Saint,the latter then ask,"When are we going to start?"

"See you were really off to somewhere else when Sir Chen was explaining this to us.(a wide grin came across Perth's lips).He said we still have to wait until the approval of the permits.And also,they still have to look into the families where the students will have to stay.It may not be soon I guess."

"Okay.So,I'll just wait for further announcements from Sir Chen.But,I think we can discuss what we have to write on our thesis so we can have a guide already when the immersion starts.",Saint suggested his idea to the other guy.

"I think it's a bit too early for that.Unless you want to spend time with me,BumBums!",then Perth gave Saint a playful wink.

"Mr.Tanapon,if only I have a choice I will not associate myself with someone like you.Someone who feels so priviledge!"..A fuming Saint left the room as his silky white skin turned into a red tomato.

Perth can't help but smile.He doesn't know why all of a sudden he wants to tease Saint.They're not even close.He find him cute whenever his face turns red from blushing from being shy,embarassed or even being angry.

Wait...What the hell did I just thought?..Saint..Cute?..And I even called him BumBums awhile ago..I must have gone nuts!Or maybe I was being possessed by some unknown spirit!I better go and buy food.I must be hungry.
