You ever wonder what it means to be a poet?
Does it mean you have to rhyme,
or is it not that that shows it?
I can never tell sometimes.
Does poetry have to be like dancing?
That's sweeping and swaying in the wind.
Or is it more like something you sing?
No that can't be it.
Poetry is more like something graceful
that echos your soul's desire to be itself.
Not something to use as a wasteful,
unhappy thing, only ever used as a step.
Poetry is romantic in its own way.
Each word is different and unique.
With every new line, it's a new aim.
All looking for a new bright beam.
There's always a sort of message thats hidden,
when reading any type of poetry.
Whether it be sorrow or light its in the vision.
That shows it's true meaning, really.
Poetry can be beautiful and sad,
or it can be happy and bright.
There are so many colors that will always add
extra wonder to the remarkable writing.
Poets write out their feelings and express
what needs to be said but can't be out loud.
They make art of all of their stress.
They should stand back and be proud of it.
What poets really are are people
just like you and me.
They have a talent that we don't, a real regal.
Talents that surprise all of us, you'll see.
Poets are wonderful and grand.
They really should take a stand.
To show what they have is of a land
that no one else can view firsthand.
