Our friendship was like the stars
Distracting and unable to be shook
But maybe we set our bars
A little to high
We rocketed upward fast
Towards the sky
Never even wondering if our 1st would be our last
We were so alike it seemed perfect
In those moments we promised something we couldn't keep
Maybe we just overworked it
Or maybe it was because we didn't sleep
Either way we ended up telling everything
To each other. Not wanting the moment to fade
Leaving our thoughts lingering
On the secrets that we trade
Wishing that we had forever
And an everlasting bond
Knowing it was now or never
To make sure we were fond
Of each other. Which we knew we were
Our friendship never ending
And love to be the cure
From the poison that's surrounding
Poison that made our trust shake
Side to side as if it were a game
Made us wish the stars wouldn't see our mistake
Hoping they wouldn't take our friendship to blame
Now it seems we were to late
To stop the poison from spreading
Leading us to this awful fate
So now we must start shedding
The skins we used to have
The ones that somehow made us weak
But in my heart on your behalf
I will start to seek
To find what we once had
And show it cure once more
So we no longer can be saddened
For something that might still be tore
But under those marks are memories
The ones that we shared
Thinking of this might put you at ease
And don't forget that fact that I still
Care.
